I have been working at The Party Staff full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The work that you do has an immediate impact on day to day operations. You're not in a silo, you're part of a team.

    Cons

Everyone wears multiple hats so if you need a defined job description to stay motivated and productive this wouldn't be a good fit.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Day to day operations can become overwhelming, when pushing new initiatives recognize the extra effort it will take to make it successful.

I have been working at The Party Staff part-time for more than a year

    Pros

The Party Staff is a fun company who do lots of corporate and entertainment events.
They have lots of jobs and if you’re a good employee they can keep you as fully booked/busy and you want. The more availability you have the better, but even if you can work just one or two days a week they will put you to work. Money is good for what you do and there's always opportunity to make great tips.

    Cons

Some event are harder than others but you take the good with the bad.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep growing and rewarding your best workers.

I have been working at The Party Staff part-time for less than a year

    Pros

I *have* worked the kinds of events I signed on for. So far the leads/captains have been good, competent people. I feel like things should work out fine over the long-haul.

    Cons

I worked an event where I was told I would be doing one thing and ended up doing something completely different - something I would never have signed up for. I didn't like being put in a position that felt like bait-n-switch where I had to do the job or walk out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't presume that everything is fine when you see your people doing something completely different than what you presented. Ask them if it's ok and then take action based upon what they say. Yes, you need to take care of your clients, but you also need to take care of your people or you'll lose them.

I worked at The Party Staff part-time

    Pros

VERY flexible schedule. Most restaurants are willing to work around your school schedule, if you have kids-your kids schedule, etc. They usually have so many employees that its easy to get someone to work for you if you need the night off.

    Cons

Some ignorant people look down on people in the restaurant biz, like its not a "real job". Servers are good at lifting weights by default. You have to hold trays full of food and precariously balanced glasses over the head of diners with one arm while carrying the portable tray with the other arm. The impromptu choreography resembles a circus act.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I mean if you want to work as a server you can only if you enjoy it.

I worked at The Party Staff part-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Beautiful places to work at.

    Cons

They pay you minimum wage with no tips. The office is very disorganized. Some staff is outright RUDE! They short you on your checks hoping you don't notice. You drive long distances with very minimal travel pay.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being so selfish and greedy and pay your hardworking employees what they are worth!
