    Pros

Great employee focus. They really make every decision with the employees in mind. Promote from within and provide opportunity for training.

    Cons

The amount of training, planning and focus on Quality can at times distract from the actual job on hand. Try to strike a better balance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to listen to employees and providing a strong benefits package.

    Pros

Staff worked as a team. Passionate about hospitality. Great benefits and pay. Management eager to assist and listen to staff. Overall great place to work. Since it is not part of a chain, empowered employees can make quick decisions when necessary to benefit the guest.

    Cons

Long hours, same as any hotel. Slight lack of organization and communication in some departments.

I worked at The Seaport Hotel part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible Scheduling. Work when you want to for banquet staff. Fun place to work with employee activities. No tipping policy but company compensates in hourly wage. Great perks like discounted hotel rooms, discounted food in employee cafeteria.

    Cons

No free parking can be inconvenient for employees working late shifts. With the development of the neighborhood, street parking is difficult to find.

I worked at The Seaport Hotel

    Pros

Staff members are friendly and cooperative and it's a uniquely guest-friendly environment. It's the type of place that seems more like a community than a for-profit business.

    Cons

Shifts can be at inconvenient times, much like any other hotel. Also, it's an environment where things are always going on and changing, so it requires staying on top of what's happening.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The atmosphere of the hotel and the quality of service don't really seem to match up. It has a very homely vibe that makes it seem less cosmopolitan or upscale than it should.

I worked at The Seaport Hotel

    Pros

The benefits package was outstanding. Their paid time off structure provided a great quality of life if your supervisor would allow it.

    Cons

Little of no positive reinforcement for staff preforming well. Employee reviews although timely often detrimental to moral. Team management often left to supervises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look back to what worked in the past. Reevaluate where you want to in the future. Make clear and decisive changes to follow your plan of action.
