Pros

Plenty of scope to make a difference - plenty of opportunity for growth personally and professionally. There is tremendous flexibility - everybody here is responsible for there own time and how they spend it, as long as the important objectives are fulfilled. If you want to take on a pet project, go for it!
Generally, if you are convinced its worth doing and costs are sensible, it'll get OK'd and encouraged.

Cons

All the expected pressures of a small business - often too much to do, not enough time/money, etc. Would like to have a bigger team to work with, often bogged down by lack of "hands on deck".
The business, whilst viable, is not profitable enough to generate sustained and powerful direction. Has yet to hit its stride.

Advice to Senior Management

Greater clarity of purpose and confidence required. Perhaps a good consultant would help work through the issues.
