Charles Brown
I worked at The Source full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Potential to earn unlimited amounts of money with commission and spiffs
Benefits
Friendly Co-Workers and Store Managers
Good Hours
Cons – When Bell took over we lost many incentives with winning prizes
Very pushy Sales Tactics with Advantage Care Plans, Bell Sales, BRS, Cellphones ETC.
High turn over of District Managers
Very little stock to sell
Put alot of pressure for attachment rates, conversion, ACP %
NO ROOM FOR ADVANCEMENT - Other than possibly switching to a manger in another store, options are slim
Over Staffed at times which made sales very difficult and too competitive
Advice to Senior Management – More Stock to sell
Reduce percentage requirements to achievable levels
Bring back incentives - Wheel of Fortune Etc.
Less Staff = Less competition

I have been working at The Source full-time for less than a year
Pros – Close interaction with customers
Small and friendly work environment
Advancement to management is very much possible
Store discounts!
Commission and spiffs
Cons – Work infrastructure can be disorganized
E-Training means training on your own time
Advice to Senior Management – When hiring new workers, add an additional sales associate to show how things are done and allow new workers to do e-training like how Starbucks does it. (SBX allows new workers to spend an entire shift doing courses)

I have been working at The Source full-time for more than a year
Pros – -Very high pay for a retail job (though this is only the case at very few of the stores nationwide)
-Get to play around with some interesting technology (latest phones/some neat gadgets)
Cons – Completely incompetent store manager in my experience, though my District Sales Manager is very knowledgeable in the few instances we get to meet with him. Having to outright lie to customers on a daily basis in order to keep up sales and various other requirements like email collection is quite dispiriting. It is not possible to maintain these figures while keeping the consumers interests a priority, regardless of what management tries to tell you. Most of the products in the store are completely junk, which makes it very difficult for me to recommend a solution.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire competent store managers that are actually familiar with technology. My manager can barely operate a cell phone, while simultaneously having to "help" customers with these devices on a daily basis. This results in a sales associate, often with another customer, having to take over. This hurts sales and frustrates customers who often end up walking out when it is busy. Not being able to get any reliable answers from management for questions regarding Cellular/Bell TV does not help either.

I worked at The Source full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Events with vendors are always fun. There are multiple events and trainings in the year where you can win electronics.
Cons – Getting ideas to upper management is like moving mountains. Also, moving up in the company is extremely difficult. Once you become store manager, the only way to get a higher salary is to either have a massive increase in sales and get bonuses or move up the class of the store or to wait until there's a company shuffle and you get a bigger store.
Advice to Senior Management – Have a suggestion website where employees can login anonymously and post ideas - then give other employees the power to rate the ideas and have a division to implement them.
