    Pros

Company values were consistent and ethical. Company leadership was responsible toward club membership as well as company team members. Compensation was great, training was considered an investment, and was provided at no charge in many cases.

    Cons

Club membership could be difficult to please at times, but for the most part, not too bad.
Sometimes club management was very busy.

    Advice to Management

Office culture was values based, and consistent with the golden rule. What more do you want?

    Pros

    Nice gym
    Free membership
    Relatively busy
    High end clientele
    Co-workers support each other
Food is healthier and get discounts
    Location

    Cons

    Bad management
Don't support staff against bad members
    Little to no encouragement
Too many items broken and not replaced quickly enough
Raises no longer happen but prices keep going up
    Pay structure unfair on services

    Advice to Management

It's not all about the numbers. Invest in your employees and treat them with respect and not like little kids. We have been doing this a very long time. The club takes and takes from us but gives little back in support and low side of commissions. Stop being so defensive all the time and have a real conversation with your employees.
A real Christmas party goes a long way with morale. Members unhappy too because of management and plenty come just for us only plenty of times

    Advice to Management

    more parking spaces.

    Pros

Good place to make contacts in business. Good location, free gym membership. The general lower level staff are very good to work with.

    Cons

They treat employees horribly, conjuring up reasons to fire people. Management is completely out of touch with the needs of the members and of the employees. It was only when practically their ENTIRE staff of private trainers and others left to go to another facility they started taking notice.

    Advice to Management

Pull your head out of the dark place from which is lies. You have people who manage the club that NEVER leave their office to see members or employees. Listen to member's concerns and suggestions, and it's THEIR money that keeps the place in business.

    Pros

In general the front line and club management teams are really great people. Fun to work with, some real talent still left there but slipping fast.

    Cons

This company has slipped dramatically since taking on a new CEO a few years ago. The culture has become toxic and things have fallen apart to a point that they can not be fixed. Multiple clubs that serve thousands of members each are operating without General Mgrs and other key staff. The little things started to slip first, the special touches, then everything else fell behind it. Training programs are out dated or non existent. Corporate and management turnover are staggering. This by all accounts is a sinking ship. There is no opportunity for growth and if there was it would not be desirable as the fish has rotted at the head.

    Advice to Management

Gracefully bow out. You are not built for this. Your word of mouth approval rating from your staff is an unexaggerated 0%

    Pros

    Consistent hours.
    Healthy work environment.
Meet high profile people and celebrity clientele.
Free gym membership to a very prestigious health club!

    Cons

High profile guests and members are difficult to deal with.
    Management needs improvement.
Management has little concern for employees.
Pay not commensurate with work load.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to enforce policies more and be less lenient about giving things to members for free. Focus on your staff more.

    Pros

The members were affluent people that rarely asked for too much, and really good to talk to once they starting to get to know you as an employee. The coworkers are good people too.

    Cons

Overpriced benefits, if you ever were offered them; example, benefits were made to only be available to full time employees, so all employees' hours, other than management, were cut back to part time. Senior Management didn't care about employee satisfaction, just about getting more money.

    Advice to Management

Realize that your subordinates also have bills to pay, mouths to feed, illnesses to combat, and careers to pursue...then treat them accordingly.
