I worked at The University of Texas-Pan American part-time for more than a year

    Pros

As a work study, was able to create my own schedule and have flexibility. It was very convenient to work on campus. It was easy to work in a new field and gained new skills. Understanding supervisors.

    Cons

It was difficult to get work study awards. Office of financial aid really didn't know who had work study or when it would be available. Only had a limited number of hours to work. Minimum wage.

I worked at The University of Texas-Pan American full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

Most jobs are laid back. Great for those without high aspirations.

    Cons

If you want to shine, this is not the place to be.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let hiring managers know they should not have people already lined-up for a job, especially a friend or family. This happens really often and top management does nothing about. And when I mean nothing I mean zero, null, nada.
