    Pros

Job security, benefits were great, easy pace, great opportunity to get involved in the community through the company events.

    Cons

large corp structure, groups/teams do little interaction with each other which makes it hard to progress in the company if you chose to move from one group to another. Pay stinks.

    Advice to Management

Direct management was great! Higher management needs to listen to the lower band employees to gain a better understanding of the needs and struggles.

    Pros

I really enjoyed all of the colleagues that I worked with while I was there. Colleagues did the best they could to help each other out.

    Cons

Far too large a portfolio to support, in far too large a territory. Challenging workload. I underwent 6 reorgs in 4 years. Some managers were terrible, a few were great.

    Pros

I worked at the Lenexa facility for a few years, and it was a good company to work for, good pay and good benefits, met a lot of genuine and nice people.

    Cons

Unfortunately, I was constantly bullied by my immediate supervisor who was also one of the executives at the microbiology division. After several years of constant abuse, I filed complaint to the management. When the complaint was filed, the VP at that time did good job and things were minimized. Unfortunately, at such big companies, the turn over of the upper management was so huge, and the nice VP was promoted through the Thermo Fisher Corporate and left for greener pastures. Under the next VP, the bullying resumed and after filing another complaint, the VP turned a blind eye, the bully teamed with the HR and terminated me. It was very unfortunate that the whole company knew about this person's bullying behavior, but allowed to continue for so many years, still to this date.

    Advice to Management

The executives from the corporate office from Waltham, MA need to see this and stop such bully at the Lenexa facility. Other than that. I loved the company, the benefits, majority of people were genuine, nice and hard working.

    Pros

Good Pay, Good Benefits, stock options, Yearly Bonus, chance to earn 2% on sales of new units for submitting leads.

    Cons

Lots of middle management looking to push metrics instead of focusing on the customer. Poor planning and implementation of new systems. Hires unqualified personnel from temp agencies. Very difficult to advance. Poor quality equipment made from overseas. Poor product launch readiness.

    Advice to Management

Try to be more customer focused and less obsessed with meeting metrics. Metrics should be secondary to helping the customer and that should be emphasized regularly. Try not to bug people about being in adherence when they're working hard on helping someone. The position we work is not strictly phone calls and getting in trouble when taking care of a problem for a customer is ridiculous. You get in less trouble for doing nothing and "adhering" to what you're scheduled for than helping people.

    Cons

Very corporate, very large, therefore slow to move
