I have been working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Benefits are awesome, independence in your position, talented and knowledgeable professionals providing top notch care

    Cons

Disorganized and inefficient systems - for example, the orientation I had to my specific position was pretty much non-existent. I figured it all out by myself through questions asked. Plus, the answers I got to my questions were different from each person I asked. Everyone is doing there own thing even when it comes to something that is concrete such as billing - poor multidisciplinary teamwork, billing people are incompetent

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Go through each department and thoroughly review how their systems are working in order to more efficiently utilize resources and provide optimal care.

It was a great career opportunity at one time, but no more.

I worked at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Almost everyone tried to be professional and show respect, but they had to mimic their immediate superior. The ones that were good, were very good, but the others; terrible.

    Cons

Lack of leadership. So much money, effort and time was sent trying to make any decision (or a viable CYA's) that by the time a decision was made, the opportunity had passed and the decision was more detrimental than having done nothing at all.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop real relationships with subordinates. Take off the ties and pearls and work along side the troops once and a while. You would be surprised what you can learn. Your job title section on this survey stinks.

I was proud to be hired to work here, I only wish they treated their employee's as well as they treat their patients.

I have been working at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Learned a lot, met a lot of amazing people. The work is interesting and I love working independently at review patient accounts and overpayments both on the insurance end and the patient end.

    Cons

Leadership has much to work on. They do not seem to treat all employee's the same. I sometimes feel as if I am still in grade school when it comes to policies and how we are treated as far interacting with co workers. Supervisors are not always available for work related questions due to being on personal phone calls or having personal conversations. It seems to be a "do as I say not as I do" leadership.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Lead by example in all aspects of work.
