    Pros

They really make efforts to keep employees happy. They focus on customer service, knowing positive employees give the best customer experience.

    Cons

Smoke?/Unruly customers can affect your employment.

    Advice to Management

Verbally abusive customers should be dealt with more effectively. No matter the amount the amount of $ they are playing, it's bad for business to allow/accept that behavior. It downgrades the image of the property to allow that element to thrive.

    Cons

Smokey casino; drunk guests (but most of the time the guests were harmless)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing....I felt so much support from the VP team!

    Pros

Decent pay(not top of the line like other casinos though), free food && benefits

    Cons

They started giving less hours to full-timers and part-timers && they also did not like to move you from an on-call schedule for awhile, meaning you had no benefits. They do not care if you go to college.

    Advice to Management

Manage gossip better, don't fire good workers just cause one jealous worker gave a bad review. Know your facts. 2 people got fired because a current employee set them up. I cannot stress how important it is to know YOUR FACTS!!!!

    Cons

The under prepare you extreamly for the job you are being trainned for. My information packet didnt have any numbers in in including HR's. I went to orientation and was told I would Get a phone call of my next shift. Never recieved one so I called myself and way told all scedualing was now done at a separate department which I had to contact my self. I showed up once for a shift and was told I want needed but wasnt paid. Icame in after quitting to recieve my final check and it wasnt completed so i requested to have it mailed. A week later I called and they still had it in the office.

    Advice to Management

stop thinking you are too busy to talk to your employees, we actually run the buisness and they preception to the customers.

    Pros

The ability to learn an industry that is less common to the Central Valley.

    Cons

Owners and leaders uneducated and inexperienced in business management, emotional intelligence, and unaware of the talent's strength and capabilities.

    Advice to Management

Explore and value employee's education, experience, contributions, and dedication.

    Pros

Great benefits for part time and full time employees, good pay, free meals. As a barista here I made more than I would at a Starbucks or something outside of the casino plus a lot of people tip really well.

    Cons

I started here as a temp employee and then they wanted to keep me, knowing that I was a full time student. Management was not flexible or very understanding about my schedule. I think I was part of a minority though, because I didn't know many other people who had this problem. There also seems to be a lot of drama in certain departments, but as long as you are someone who can resist getting involved then you shouldn't have a problem! Also, for some reason my department was always short handed because they had a hard time hiring people, which really doesn't make a lot of sense.

    Pros

friendly co-workers, very team-based with good support system, free lunch at the team-member cafeteria, nice uniforms, good tips if met with happy customers, free parking with free shuttle service to casino

    Cons

inhaling cigarette smoke everyday at work, mandatory to work during holidays, low hourly wage, long drive to lincoln, rude customers can get on your nerves, not much room for advancement opportunities, no job security

    Advice to Management

Offer bonuses and rewards for your employees

    Pros

The salary's are decent to good. A hot meal is provided for each shift. Most employees are long term. Mostly good co-workers. Benefits are good if your position qualifies for them.

    Cons

Management is often changing the rules with out posting them. Harder to get hired than 4-5 years ago. Many full time jobs have become part time, on call, with no benefits.

    Advice to Management

Spend more time communicating, visiting, all three shifts. Many problems could be solved or headed off by listening to a wide range of employees. Not just lip service.

    Pros

Great Benefits at low cost to employees and a 37.5 hour work week for full-time.

    Cons

Very low salary increases and very few paid Holidays

    Advice to Management

The team members needs consistency in respect to receiving raises/performance reviews. As some of us have worked there over two years without any of the above and yet we are told we are doing a great job!
