Fired Under False Information Not properly researched

Development Manager (Former Employee) Austin, TX

ProsEmployees at the working level are hard working, dedicated and professional. The products have great potential to lead the industry.

ConsDisconnect at the executive level. Employee base has no respect for executive management. Employees are constantly put in a reactive mode due to lack of planning and management support.

Advice to Senior ManagementFocus on product quality and customer satisfaction. Follow through with the promises you make to your clients. Listen to your employees, the people that actually do the work!

Better now with New management in place

Regional Sales Manager (Current Employee) Pleasanton, CA

ProsTiburon is the #1 Public Safety company and now has great leadership that wants to win and satisfy our customers. Match that with the potential of happy customers and I can make a lot of money!

ConsTook too long for ownership to find the right match of management . some good people didn't wait

Advice to Senior ManagementStay the course you have outlined; gain some confidence in the sales teams, and be good to our customer base.

    Interesting work under incompetent management

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Pleasanton, CA

ProsTiburon does very important software - that for the emergency services.

ConsIt's recent set of VPs have do not brought either public safety experience or software product experience to the table. They do not know how to deal with noisey customers, organize the products, run projects to completion. There is also a cultural rift within the company of old versus new crew.

Claims to care about customers are false

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Pleasanton, CA

ProsMost of the employees were smart and industry professionals. Those from the previous company which was purchased and renamed Tiburon carry a chip on their shoulders as the "Originals" which creates a wedge between anyone new coming in.

ConsTheir main goal is to get the company ready for sale and turn a profit. There are some smart people at the top, but not interested in growing the business or helping the customers, just turning a buck which is fine, but be honest about it. Employees are ignored, given unreasonable work schedules and scapegoats in many situations.

Advice to Senior ManagementTake better care of your employees.

Bunyard Was TOO Considerate - New Clowns Are Just Funny

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee) Fremont, CA

ProsStable products, generally good folks at the employee level. Middle management is where the ineptitude starts. New executive management has no business at a public safety software company - proof is in the pudding: what business have they landed that wasn't already in the pipe?

ConsBad communication, ongoing babying of under-performing resources. Under Bunyard, far too much credit given to failures. New management is simply applying everything they learned in MBA courses in an abstract way.

Advice to Senior ManagementSell the company - move on.

Note that Glassdoor says Bunyard is CEO. He is not and has not been for years. Present CEO is Jeff Stone. Bunyard made attemp[ts to be effective. Stone doesn't have any idea what is going on.

Run as fast as you can and don't look back!

Software Engineer (Current Employee) Pleasanton, CA

ProsThe building Tiburon is in has nice elevators. They have free yoga classes after work. It's within walking distance of a mall. That's about it.

ConsTiburon used to be a great place to work and used to be a vendor worth considering when buying a police or fire records system. Not any more. The new management team only cares about two things: what’s in it for them and making the bottom line on a spreadsheet look good today.

Advice to Senior ManagementDo us all a huge favor and quit before you completely tank the place, if it's not already too late. At least do us all the courtesy of selling the company to someone who has a clue what this business is about and who cares even a little bit about the people and the customers. Someone to run Tiburon who is not completely self absorbed with themselves would be a nice change.
