Pros
It's awesome to work in entertainment..but the ticket discounts are not as great as everyone thinks.
My manager was awesome!
Working with quite a few smart people who always have a side hustle.
Cons
Decisions made at the upper level often come out of nowhere.
There are a quite a few people who think they are great, but really suck (lots in marketing!!).
They work your butt off!
Advice to Senior Management
Clearly communicate strategic vision and stick by it.
Pros
Access to awesome concerts (even though we had to put in requests and wait till the last minute, sometimes it was worth it)
laid back environment
Cons
Low morale! Seems like everyone stares at the clock to strike 5pm so they can get out of there!
They make you fill out your annual performance review but never meet with you to go over it..how are we supposed to know how we're performing if we don't know which areas we need to improve and which areas we're excelling in?
Advice to Senior Management
retreats shouldn't only be for the VPS and above. think about all the little people who make the company run and actually work their arse off every day.
Pros
Great connections to get great or FREE seats for shows. TM has luxury boxes as some arenas so you get to see some events for free that you would never actually pay to see but if you work in the corp. office you will never get free tickets. Good Health Care and Dental. Easy to take time off and 3 weeks vacation starting out seems great.
Cons
They pay is by below industry standard. Upper Management has no clue how things in the field offices actually work. Clients are never happy with decisions made by upper management but there is no competitor to Ticketmaster so they can’t leave. Moral was low before the merger. After the merger moral is much worse, people took credit for things they did not do, people are paranoid for their jobs, people are getting demoted. They no longer match the 401K, no more office happy hours, no more taking clients to lunch. They cut travel, overtime, and expenses. They keep promoting the same employees due to favorites and politics. They let go some of the best talent they had over the last 9 months. People got let go who clients loved and coworkers praised, however, upper management has no idea what anyone actually does. Live Nation is no doubt the best in the business when it comes to promoting concerts however when it comes to the ticketing industry, they do not have a clue.
Advice to Senior Management
Get some stability. Reward your employees. To many false promises. Upper Management should work in a field office for 2 weeks and see who actually drives the company.
Pros
I've seen *some* good shows and have been able to take my family/friends to the vip booths at very select shows. however, it's not nearly as often as one would think. I get free monthly parking in sf garage.
Cons
constant management shift/change. not much follow up on performance review issues. no employee discounts on concert tickets. not much room for growth/opportunity. they no longer match our 401k contributions. job title changes are very difficult to process.
Advice to Senior Management
treat your employees well and you company will succeed. treat them like crap and things will continue to get worse.
Pros
Great benefits package (vacation, medical benefits, paid-time off, 401K employer contribution) and great perks. Got free tickets to concerts and local sports games. Laid-back work environment, not your typical corporate work place. Although I believe this will all be changing once Live Nation full integrates.
Cons
Revolving door of employees and lots of instability in upper management. Many high level management getting canned or leaving (which isn't a good sign). Constantly reducing work force and having to work with new people all of the time. After merger work morale was very low as employees felt that they didn't matter and weren't being treated properly. The decent work environment was completely ruined and Ticketmaster/Live Nation is not a pleasant place to be anymore.
Advice to Senior Management
Treat employees with a little bit of dignity stop taking them for granted. You won't keep good employees if you continue to treat then poorly... bad employees = bad company/reputation. I don't believe that the future of Live Nation/TM will go well under current management.
Pros
Potentially, one of the best companies, a great product and a vibrant place with some great technical people, great market saturation and a good brand, regardless of any merger in the news
Cons
Unfortunate that politics in middle-management is seemingly cripping the smaller internal teams as people battle with saving their own skin, and their moral compass gets left by the wayside. There is no honesty with certain groups, and its a shame, as the core values of the business has been lost, in a see of a** covering.
There's very little in the wayof positive reenforcement, pats on the back or acknowledgement of good work. Such a shame, really hope there's a cultural shift pretty soon or else a lot more problems will occur
Advice to Senior Management
Stand up for the right thing, even if it means upsetting the balance, if somethings clearly wrong, say so, instead of burying it to aid forging political aliances to protect your own jobs.
Pros
Benifits, time off, and recognition.
Cons
The pay, a high percentage of illiterate irate customers
Advice to Senior Management
In these economic times a raise in pay or added incentives would improve morale.
Pros
Access to tickets for popular events
Company is constantly evolving
Innovative technology
International growth opportunities
Good stock option program for employees
Cons
All the recent upper management changes leave a bit of uncertainty
They have a bit of the boys club mentatlity
Advice to Senior Management
Keep maintaining the pre merger environment, don't let Live nation just take over.

Pros
- Work with smart people you can learn a lot from
- Relaxed atmosphere where people are judged by the results of their work and their ideas, not how they dress or look or what degrees they may have
- Solve big and difficult problems
- Work in an IT organization that drives revenue for the company rather than being simply a cost center
Cons
- Never-ending demand for product features makes it difficult to find resources for important but non-customer-facing products
- Stress of demanding clients and negative consumer perception
- Generally hear news about the company from the media before upper management
Advice to Senior Management
Be more open both with employees about the company and with the public about the real talent of the employees within the company and the great work they're doing.
Pros
This place used to be a lot better to work at with holiday parties and that sort of stuff. It does have a laid back attitude most of the time.
Cons
They have definitely lost there way, I no longer feel a sense of appreciation . There seems to be very low morale.
Advice to Senior Management
I would say invest in your employees a bit more and also listen to what the guys on bottom are saying, it might improve the morale and work of the employees.
