  1. Don't believe the "party scene" propaganda - this is an old/outdated company with unethical managers.

    Pros

    employees get free tickets that public won't buy
    remote work
    2 paycheck a month

    Cons

    managers don't mange - they CYA by blaming employees for their failure
    better benefits and salary is way below market
    the new CIO prides himself on being a "hustler". you figure the rest
    honestly and hard work isn't appreciated, lying and & taking credit for others work is
    anonymous employee surveys aren't anonymous - if you are honest, they'll target you

    You are the most unethical people I've ever worked with. you steal from artists, public, and employees. no wonder you have to reach to far corners of eastern europe and asia to recruit new people.

    Pros

    - The company is aimed at trying to change the wrongs of its past

    Cons

    - Highly Political
    - Mgmt plays games rather than getting things done often
    - Comp is on the low end
    - Apathy and 'freeloader' attitude is rampant throughout the company
    - Lots of firedrills; priorities shift constantly depending on mgmts mood this week

    Fire and hire; Sack incurable politicians, cull the apathetic, and replace with go getters

    Pros

    You are close to the concert and ticketing business.

    Cons

    Satisfaction depends on which manager you get and whether your team has good team dynamics. The mobile development group has horrible team dynamics, dysfunctionally incommunicative team leads, political favoritism. Growth or training or junior people was not encouraged and little hands on dialogue in actively training new people. You get penalized for expressing your point of view and if you ask for help, then you are thrown under the bus.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Support your newer employees who don't know nearly as much as your senior people. Everyone is always learning in the field of software development, so you can't expect everyone to know everything. Allow for dissenting opinions and positive contribution, and less egomania.

    Pros

    high profile company, great PTO, decent benefits

    Cons

    highly political organization with management only caring about themselves. no investment in people. no training and no growth. decisions are made to please your manager.

    Get some fresh blood in. someone who has never worked anywhere else can't make a good senior manager

    Pros

    casual work environment....2 weeks off in the winter.....various parties for holidays, football events ect...

    Cons

    poor management cohesion, poor systems, nothing is streamlined manipulating data is very manual and time consuming... systems are no where near helpful to managements ask.....nothing is consistent

    Pro- free lottery for tickets. loose dress code, easy job.

    Good compensation
    Good benefits
    Entertainment industry (could be plus or minus)

    Cons

    Senior management has no respect for their subordinates, which is reflected all the way down the corporate ladder. Prepare to be treated as a peon.
    Some groups have great leadership, but generally it's average-to-nonexistant
    Poor work-life balance

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Stop spreading nice-sounding B.S. in corporate meetings and focus on implementing some of the corporate culture you profess to support.

    I worked at Ticketmaster

    Pros

    Great benefits package (vacation, medical benefits, paid-time off, 401K employer contribution) and great perks. Got free tickets to concerts and local sports games. Laid-back work environment, not your typical corporate work place. Although I believe this will all be changing once Live Nation full integrates.

    Cons

    Revolving door of employees and lots of instability in upper management. Many high level management getting canned or leaving (which isn't a good sign). Constantly reducing work force and having to work with new people all of the time. After merger work morale was very low as employees felt that they didn't matter and weren't being treated properly. The decent work environment was completely ruined and Ticketmaster/Live Nation is not a pleasant place to be anymore.

    Treat employees with a little bit of dignity stop taking them for granted. You won't keep good employees if you continue to treat then poorly... bad employees = bad company/reputation. I don't believe that the future of Live Nation/TM will go well under current management.

    Pros

    Benefits include some free shows and ability to purchase tickets for popular events before they are available to public.

    Cons

    The company feels like it is in the middle of an identity crisis. The new CEO seems to dislike the company. He appears more focused on frontline then ticketmaster.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Decide what your goals are and stick with the plan. Sean Moriaty did an excellent job as leader, since he retired, the company pretty much blows.
