I have been working at Ticketmaster full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Casual work environment. Great people to work with. Benefits are in-line with industry standard. Time off is fair and adequate.

    Cons

Compensation not consistent with cost of living. BAD Location. (on hollywood blvd. crowded. dirty. congested. tourist trap. overrun with homeless) Corporate organization leaves a lot to be desired.

    Advice to Management

Please please please consider moving offices to a safer, cleaner, and CHEAPER area. If you are going to pay sub-standard salaries for the majority of your employees, you should at least locate us in a less expensive area. Also, management of Ticketmaster needs to create clearer paths of growth within the company and be more transparent about wages.

I worked at Ticketmaster full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The team was great. I meet so many talented and hard working people.

    Cons

Management is arrogant. They're very slow at making decisions and communication is weak.

    Advice to Management

When multiple people on a team report their manager (multiple times) to HR for being inappropiate you should probably listen.

    Pros

Great manager and team. Very technically sound. The directors of each team are also from a technical background. Flexible work timings. Friday parties are really cool - with beer and wine. Free tickets to concerts

    Cons

It is on Hollywood and too many people. Office is small without gym or recreational facilities.

    Advice to Management

Keep it going!! I love the vision the people have.

I have been working at Ticketmaster (More than a year)

    Pros

It's a big multinational company & a great brand. It's the king of the hill in ticketing.

    Cons

Tm operates in many countries and I'm sure the atmosphere in each would be different. In The UAE office however, it was too overwhelmingly stressful and not well controlled by senior management - could be due to the fact that it's a new & not yet well established market.

    Pros

-Free coffee -Cool office location (near restaurants and down the street from where Jimmy Kimmel is filmed -Paid parking -Laid-back environment

    Cons

-Unpaid internship -Tourists in the summer -Traffic (but what else is new in LA?)

    Advice to Management

Give more feedback--it's nice that you're a laid-back environment, and it's true that an intern will only be there for so long, but let me know how I'm doing so I can improve.

    I worked at Ticketmaster full-time

    Pros

+ Working on Java and latest technologies + If you know someone internally who is at higher position this is the best place to advance in your career within 1 year

    Cons

+ No Work life balance ( I mean really, join as contractor otherwise they will suck your blood by taking away your public holidays too) + No stocks + No Appreciation in the review + No bonus (Don't believe if they say that you will get 10 ~ 20% bonus) + No career progression

    Advice to Management

Remove 5-6 levels of management and let engineer run the company, if you really believe in the technical capabilities of engineers

    Pros

extra one week holiday during xams depends on which team you are in. some team are fun, has good working culture, lot of exciting tasks to do, good place to start if you are new graduated students.

    Cons

in some team, work load is uneven distribute, lack of ownership authority. unlucky one have over load tasks to do, others waiting for what came out and take away the credit and ownership. feel like you are in 19 century western california

    Pros

    - 2 free tickets a year - one or two week shutdown at the end of the year

    Cons

    - Ticketmaster is not a startup. Why are they trying so hard to foster that atmosphere? - Have to be on call a few months out of the year - Open office layout hell. The gimmick was that everyone has no offices or cubes. Guess what? Higher level execs have claimed offices that were supposed to be used for 'conferences' - Managers only care for themselves and will bleed you dry to advance their own careers - They want to create jack of all trades, master of none employees. Developers / ops / QA / front end / back end are all merging into one singular employee - Product usually has no idea what they're talking about, creating more work for the people that do the actual work

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to change into a company that utilizes every buzzword under the sun and focus on actually listening to and making your employees happy.

    Pros

employees get free tickets that public won't buy remote work 2 paycheck a month

    Cons

managers don't mange - they CYA by blaming employees for their failure better benefits and salary is way below market the new CIO prides himself on being a "hustler". you figure the rest honestly and hard work isn't appreciated, lying and & taking credit for others work is anonymous employee surveys aren't anonymous - if you are honest, they'll target you

    Advice to Management

You are the most unethical people I've ever worked with. you steal from artists, public, and employees. no wonder you have to reach to far corners of eastern europe and asia to recruit new people.
