I worked at Tim Hortons part-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great for students in need of part time and to gather experience. It really depends on the franchise owner you work for, and of course the management in that franchise.

    Cons

Management of store varies even if set standards are set by the corporation. No benefits whatsoever.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make sure to be consistent for all franchise stores.

I worked at Tim Hortons part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Nice coworkers, employee discount, understanding managers.

    Cons

Extraordinarily busy, sometimes way too many arbitrary rules that cannot be followed for whatever reason.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what the job actually entails before placing more rules on it.

I worked at Tim Hortons part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

You get the experience of working in the food service industry, and you can meet a lot of really nice customers. Tips are alright, it's like a little bonus.

    Cons

We were ridiculously understaffed, so even if you were painfully sick, you couldn't get your shift covered. The leadership was pretty bad, they didn't really care about their employees. Some safety policies were ignored.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please hire enough people. Over-working your employees is really bad and it doesn't make it easy for them to provide good service.

    I worked at Tim Hortons

    Pros

The team I worked with was great. Manager always concerned about you and made the staff feel like a family.

    Cons

Owner wants to take the cheap way out every time thus things were always breaking. Not much room for growth and Supervisor's pay was barely an upgrade from minimum wage.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to what would make each store more efficient. Don't hire bad attitudes to ruin the atmosphere of the store.
