This is a great workplace. The people are decent, hard working and friendly folks.

I have been working at Timber Products Co.

ProsThe best part of Timber Products Company is its people. I haven't met anyone who isn't willing to help out or answer questions. The plant leadhership's position on environmental compliance is the best. They go beyond what's required to keep an environmentally friendly operation. This makes me proud to work here. We are a truly green and sustainable industry.

ConsIt seems like the union isn't really necessary. The management team is fair and good to its employees who pay close to $60 per month in dues. That's $700 per year I could use! I think Timber Products should have more visibility in the community other than just a plume.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt would be helpful to have Joe G. down here more often. It's alway good to hear from him and have the opportunity to speak with him.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

A Tremendous Resource

I worked at Timber Products Co.

ProsHas great experienced work force to learn from. Provides a freedom to do your job as desired with very little politics involved. Business strategy has maintained a stable work environment.

ConsUnion facility. Market was drastically effected by housing downturn. Increasing raw materials prices and environmental regualtions making it harder to make a profit. Reinvestment in the plant was very minimal. Didn't see a willingness to pay for educated employees to replenish the work force.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire college educated employees and pay them to stay and improve your business. Lacking any form of lean knowledge within the company.
