    Pros

Benefits are great, people you work with are great

    Cons

Management is stuck in the "cable" way of doing everything and does not understand how to truly grow into a telecommunications company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't tollerate poor performance for so long. A low performer needs to go.

    Pros

work atmosphere is wonderful and the benefits

    Cons

supervisors and management they all are backstabbers cutthroat don't trust them they seems to be working with you most of the time there are not. , company policies only apply to certain people this company has a lot of favoritism

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

stop pretending you care about employees when you do not supervisors and managers pretend that they are working with you and there are not.policies doesn't pertain to one person and not the other. Their EOE IS BS. , internal or external.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay can be very good, customers are great, the work is rewarding. Benefits are good but expensive. They are taking a big jump this year.

    Cons

Lower management is clueless. They push you to the limit, often breaking HR guidelines and bordering on illegal. They want you to work on paid holidays. They don't care about work-life balance. With the impending Comcast takeover, they are all trying to prove their worth. Truth is, the people who actually generate money for the company--the sales staff--would be better off without them hassling all the time. They track your every movement during the day electronically. Nastiest bunch of managers I have ever worked with. Very unprofessional.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Back off and trust your people to do the job you hired them to do. Finding something productive to do with your time instead of brainstorming ways to make our life more miserable.

    Pros

Great pay free cable and good benifits

    Cons

No room for advancement poor training and in all honesty you are a door to door salesman which no one tells you in the beginning. They yell at you constantly because there is no such thing as enough and a ton of micro managing.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be a little easier on people

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, income potential is ok for most positions.

    Cons

Upper management is completely distracted by merger. Company is reactionary and focused on earnings rather than improving technology and customer service. Not many natural promotion opportunities in the professional and management ranks unless you create them for yourself. Career progression plans for frontline customer care and technical operations reward those who want to move up.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

free services, great benefits, good people to work with

    Cons

too many to name. low salary cap for all duties performed, if youre under any type of disciplinary action (warning, write up etc) you cant shift bid for 6 months plus 3 months meaning not only can you not move up the latter but you're stuck with your shift for a long time. Management does not have your back at all and they don't take account for anything that goes on front line takes the hit they will not back you up, very stressful environment not an enjoyable place to work at, you monthly metrics are measured based on a particular score that has to be met and if not met you will be taken into disciplinary action meaning no job security at all. New employees are hired often meaning you train then and as soon as they are knowledgeable to take the floor long term employees are let go those with a certain seniority or salary.

Cool people to work with terribly underpaid for almost 24/7 work. Training is minimal and expectations are high.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable (more than an year)

    Pros

You can make okay money if you grind out there sad thing is most people do not or do for a little while then die out. They have full benefits and free services if you live in a TWC area. People are friendly but you soon realize no one sticks around for long and those who are trying to is just to get there 6 months in to transfer out great way to get your foot in the door sometimes literally. Salary with no clock inning in or out work when you want kind of your own boss.

    Cons

Door to door sales, low pay per sale, lots of gas paid out of pocket, plenty of false promises, micro managing, base pay is based off of almost minimum wage for 40 hours a week but they want you to work 7 days a week 10-12 hour days which can benefit you since plus commission but should not be forced upon you, very unorganized part of the organization which you learn early on the job, things tend to get worse and worse

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Give a bigger salary that is more competitive than someone at McDonald's that way people will want to stay and and contribute more time on the job. Better train employees instead of just throwing them out to the sharks that way they will know what to do. Have daily in person meetings to see what is happening out in the field and talk to your people about ways to combat those common objections. Basically give your team the time of day to talk and see what they are struggling with then help them figure out a solution that way they can improve and want to stick around. Show that you care about the backbone of this company which is the direct sales unit.
