I have been working at Time Warner Cable

    Pros

    TWC offers very good benefits

    Cons

Management doesn't seem to care about finding opportunities for people who contribute. Salary has been absolutely stagnant virtually across the board..

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start realizing who keeps this companies systems running and what that entails - To many mid-level managers who do not appear to contribute anything.

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Great benefits. Always guaranteed a full work week.

    Cons

Top heavy company, always changing work procedures, not necessarily for the better. Seems like management demands more and more from their employees, but not willing to pay them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

If it ain't broke don't fix it, and pay the man (or woman).

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits(i.e. vacation, medical, vision, life insurance)

    Cons

Metrics based system, too much pressure on employees, too many calls, and poor service creates angry customers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Put your customers first and consider your employees especially, the customer service reps, as valued and not as a number. Follow through with the promise of providing quality service.

    Pros

Company is growing. Is a profitable company. Layoffs are rare.

    Cons

If your not in sales, you make little money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay bonus to non-sales support staff, that are at least 15% of current salary.

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The job is easy. You meet all kinds of people. The benefits are amazing including free cable, Internet, digital phone, and home security.

    Cons

No communication within the company. No one is ever on the same page. They don't care about employees' well being, just numbers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When discussing an employee's performance, don't only complain about the negatives. Sometimes his/her morale can stay high when you compliment them on the positives. And don't scald them, but instead show them how they can improve.

Awesome Company But Times are Changing

I have been working at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great company with great people and the opportunity to learn new technology. Benefits are great. Salaries are fair or above market value.

    Cons

Promotions on the IT side are very slow. Work-Life balance can be challenging. Maternity/Paternity time off is very limited. You have to use all of your vacation, sick days, then FMLA. Strategy is unclear at times. There are not a enough environments (Hardware) to do a true/complete SDLC process. Finally, the company may be moving forward with the Comcast merger. This could be a good thing but there is uncertainty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reward your TOP performers!!! They are great resources in the company that are delivery high end solutions, working long hours, carrying the load for non-backfilled positions. (on the tech side)

I worked at Time Warner Cable full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

They offered a 9-Week Training program, which gets you set with a broad knowledge of the industry. Great benefits including affordable health care and the cable channels.

    Cons

High stress level. I developed anxiety at this job. Incoming calls for multiple states with outages, billing questions, technical issues. No one is calling you to compliment their service. No room to grow.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Split up the customer care/technical support/billing to relieve some stress. Hire more employees to spread out the call volume.
