    Pros

Small company so you can learn a bit about many different facets of business.

    Cons

Small company so you have to handle a lot of different responsibilities.

  2. What should be an awesome company, was a tired, listing ship that lacked engines and a rudder

    Pros

Product line is fun, and well respected by target audience.
    Free Comics!
For those people that love to name drop, working for Todd McFarlane can get you new friends that think, somehow, that he will make their dreams come true.
Its more fun to say you work there, than say, Waste Management, or Arby's

    Cons

The soul and energy of the company peaked in the early 90's, and have been on steady decline without new ideas or initiative.
Key employees have survived by becoming sacred cow's to the owner. If you are not in this circle, no matter what you do, you will not achieve it.
Ownership is not aggressive enough to search for new income opportunities, instead focusing on the tried and true, which has only bought declining revenue and sales, New ideas are welcomed, but not executed, being canned at the last moment when hard dollars need to be spent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

So some soul searching. The market has changed since those early hey-days when it was innovative and unique. Now its a declining market, and everyone, including management knows this. Creativity and world building is what made this company thrive, and if anyone can do it, the ownership of the company should have that ability to create a universe that is fresh and unique, and an alternative to the other super hero dominated IP in the entertainment space today.

    Pros

Working there was cool for a few reasons. One you worked on toys! Not little kid toys but figurines for fan based stuff like comic books, movies, video games and sports. Probably the best thing is that everyone there was a fan of something and we all had a common bond.

    Cons

Pay was horrible. There was only one raise the entire time I worked at TMP. Benefits were constantly being adjusted, not in a good way. Also no room for advancement.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Care about your employees! Everybody there makes the company happen, not just management.

    Pros

The environment is laid back and creative. The office is casual and everyone is on a first name basis. You work surrounded by creativity and all types of entertainment properties. It was certainly never boring.

    Cons

The pay is poor across all levels of the company compared to competitors in the industry. Financial promises were made that were not fulfilled. Many people end up in positions they are in no way qualified for. It is a very small company that competes directly with the likes of Hasbro and Mattel. One large investment in the wrong license can (and has) put the company in a tailspin.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I enjoyed my time there. But to keep the best talent you have to pay for it. If you are offered a position and you are happy with the pay and benefits then by all means go for it. But don't expect to grow your salary significantly in the future even if promoted.

A fair to poor place to work, that used to be one of the greatest employers.

    Pros

TMP is the parent company of an empire built by Todd McFarlane and his wife. The office environment is very casual and employees can wear comfortable clothing all year round. Larger departments such as accounting have good opportunities for growth. The headquarters is located in Tempe in a central location in an upscale office park. Employees have access to special toys and comics that may be hard to find at retail outlets, and discounts at the retail stores.

    Cons

The company under previous management has made some very bad decisions in the last few years and the owners and upper management now have an us against them mentality with the staff. The easy go lucky environment where performance is rewarded is long gone. Raises are inconsistent and the company is trimming costs as fast as possible. It is now a very stressful place to work and micromanagement is rampant, with everyone pointing fingers at everyone else.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company needs some outside help to help it get back on track. Promoting from within is detrimental when the same people are shifted around to different departments and no one has an external perspective. Communication from the managers down to the staff is poor at best and needs improvement.
