I worked at Toledo Hospital full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Great work experience and ability to excel in nursing career. Teaching hospital can be a good thing for learning the new things coming out of school. Pay has been equalized recently to be more fair w/ national average. Most managers will not baulk at staying later than shift end if the night was busy.

    Cons

Very physician-centric mentality to a fault. Salaries were not comparable until recently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It's much too difficult to earn incentives such as PEP (more money for more hospital-born education). Other systems (UofM) have made theirs tolerable and within reach.

    Cons

I have been working at Toledo Hospital

    Pros

    Modified Barium Swallow
    Supervisory support is good
    Vital Stimulation exposure
    Varied caseload
Fast-paced and exciting work environment with friendly professionals
Receptive to new ideas which may prove beneficial to patients.

    Cons

Less exposure to treatment of cognitive and language disorders. Due to heavy evaluation caseload, it's tough to get the adequate treatment required during the acute stage of neurologic disease/disorder.
