    Great company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsTalk about a company that gives back. Very impressed with corporate culture and the way employees are valued. A fairly forward thinking company for being over 40 years old.

ConsUnfortunately not everyone can afford a Toll Home, they make a great product.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to hire great people, you can train skill, you cannot train personality and determination.

Terrible Place to Work - Don't Accept a Job Offer!!

Property Manager (Former Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsThere were a few nice co-workers.

ConsI was a property manager at Dreshertowne in Horsham, PA, and I accepted this position after ten years with another organization. You feel as though you must walk on eggshells around everyone, because there is so much gossip and ill--will amongst employees, who should be working together as a team. Employees undermine each other, and upper management does nothing to create a healthier work environment. Additionally, upper management is very unreasonable with work load, way too demanding and hard on their employees. They are not knowledgeable about the day-to-day operation, and spend way too much time nitpicking every little detail, in the midst, loosing the big picture. Regional manager, who is new, instead of working with the property manager, constantly undermined her. Nasty comments They have no respect for their employees or their customers. If you have other options for employment, go for it, but, whatever you do, do not work for Dreshertowne in Horsham / Toll Management. Horrible!

Advice to Senior ManagementFire Yourselves and Start Over! Eventually your business will deteriorate because of how you treat your employees and your customers.

    Worst Company Ever!

Financial Analyst (Current Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsPeople are generally friendly. Its nice to have a cafeteria in the building with friendly staff.

ConsActual position is completely different than the role advertised. Toll Brothers is not operationally effective. More time is spent shuffling papers than working on acquisitions or any value added activities. Group leaders do not care about their employees well-being and promotions are not based on performance. Everything is based on finding the cheapest "solution". The corporate office is a horrible building.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest in technology. So much time and effort is wasted dealing with operational inefficiencies. Compensate employees for good performance. High employee turnover is difficult to work with and causes the best employees to find other jobs.

a cog in a very large and efficient machine.

Studio Associate II (Current Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsIn Toll Architecture, the work environment at corporate is very good. They take care of their employees, there is a lot of firm culture, and there is plenty of room to grow to some degree.

They really support young staff to pursue professional registration.

Consyou are essentially pushing out a product that you will never see again. you are also a part of a very long assembly line, just upstream from the TIS facility.

Also, the "third floor" only cares about numbers. There is some new stuff happening, but its slow and regurgitated.

    Toll with out Bob, scary.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsGreat product, strong cash position in the market.

ConsAs Bob Toll gets closer to retirement and Zvi controls more of the company it is becoming more of your typical backstabbing, vindictive corporate culture.

Advice to Senior ManagementReplace Zvi he is not Bob Toll and never will be.

    Great Company

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsGreat experience in learning the commercial real estate market in a large scale environment. People are more than helpful in answering any and all questions you may have.

ConsThey will keep you more than busy. Even though the job can be quite enjoyable you will be asked to do much beyond your job description. Be prepared to work, and work hard. Not a negative!

Advice to Senior ManagementI think management does a great job of running Toll Brothers. They will expose you to a number of experiences just a short time in.

Toll Brothers is a great place to work.

Recruiting Specialist (Former Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsTBI is a well run company that is currently struggling due to economic parameters. However, the senior management makes every effort to make the company profitable in only ethical ways. Toll has a great reputation for creating a fantastic top quality product, and most people perk up when you tell them you work for Toll.

ConsAs with most large companies, salaries are on the lower side. Because of the size of Toll, there were glas ceilings in place making moving up the corporate ladder sometimes difficult.

Advice to Senior ManagementThe only thing I was disatisfied with at Toll was the level of compensation for the work required. So increasing pay would make the top performers more likely to stay in their employment.

The Best Home Builder in America

Advertising/Marketing/Graphics Coordinator (Current Employee) Horsham, PA

ProsGreat perks like the guest houses across the country; exceptional management team; solid business model; financial strong and stable company - employees feel confident about the product and the legacy we are all creating together.

ConsToo much paper work and forms; need to streamline / convert to electronic when possible; Need to streamline the paperwork and all the procedures - seems like the procedures in place benefit the main office staffs rather than the field staff and frankly they are our front line and we need to do everything we can to free them up so they can focus on converting sales and providing first-class service. After all, the field teams are the only ones that deal directly with the customer - NOT The main office staff.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet out in the field more - spend a weekend or 2 or 3 in a sales office or in the field negotiating contracts with the trades and inspecting quality; seems like sometimes upper management provides advice based on their own past experiences which tend to have been 10 or so years ago or longer. Times have changed...
