    Pros

Product saves lives. Some of the smartest and friendliest colleagues one could ever hope for. Opportunities to work around the world and fantastic benefits including stock options, and first rate health insurance. Very flexible work environment with many employees working from home or with very flexible hours.

    Cons

If you're afraid of change and increased responsibility that accompany a promotion or a transfer, this place is for you. The internal promotion rate is almost zero and people linger in the same role albeit with minor title changes (no actual increase in pay) for many, many years. External candidates are often brought in at the expense of losing many long term subject matter experts who've been waiting for their golden ticket. This would be more acceptable if there was an open admission on management's/HR's behalf that they would prefer outside minds to run the ship but instead they will lead employees on for years with the promise of upward mobility. For all but the most popular jobs at the company there is no defended career path so most employees end up working in limbo like zombies with no clear direction where they would end up, even if they achieved and exceed every single yearly goal to a "t". There is really no reward for exemplary achievement other than the standard COL raise.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your current employees are a resource not to take lightly. Start leveraging and rewarding the people who have most loyally stood by the company through every curve in the road. Start clearly delineating career paths for non-management personnel. Kudos for the workplace flexibility though.

    Pros

Many dedicated people that have good ideas, but Sr Mgt mis-managed and looked for scapegoats to blame....gutless.

    Cons

No direction at the top. It cost the people that worked there and dedicated themselves. They even hired back the inept COO from the original TOMO to run the Proton division. It is destined for failure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the Accuray team influence and clean house with a new vision for quality improvement and growth.

    Pros

Very dedicated coworkers, amazing technology. The feeling of helping patients with cancer is wonderful. The technology not only can treat some forms of previously untreatable cancers but aso helps improve the quality of life for patients during treatment.

    Cons

incompetent executive management, too high expectations form employees. Service department does not have very skilled service engineers so product development is saddled with the field support.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop following the lead of sales and marketing who do not understand the technology. Let research and development do heir job in reasonable amount of time. Do not compromise quality of work for expediency.

    Pros

Great technology. Employees great to get along with. Good overall environment. Was able to get equipment needed when requested. Great for technological innovation, and coming up with new ideas. Very good benifit package and salary.

    Cons

Managemnet does not seem to have a plan for what they are going to do next. Poor procedures, or non-existant procedures. There was a lack of feedback from upper management on what was expected and what was needed to be accomplished. no over-all "Head" decision maker where the buck would stop. Meeting often not accomplishing much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HIre some expereinced maagers, on all levels. Give clear picture of what you wish to do. Some Engineering procedures would be very nice.
