I have been working at Toni & Guy full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

It is nice to get free hair services, including color.

    Cons

No work life balance, no training, no pay for overtime- this is a franchise so may not be true of all locations. However, Toni & Guy corporate is not protecting their brand and making sure that the franchisees are delivering on the promises of the company name.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Check in on your franchisees and make sure that they are conforming to your brand requirements. I work in one of the Hairdressing Academies, and it looks nothing like the images that are promoted by your website. The students are kind of getting the curriculum that they are promised during their admissions meetings, but my school is nothing like I expected it to be based on learning about the history of Toni&Guy and the education division.

I worked at Toni & Guy full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Great Networking! Everyone wants a cute haircut and color, so they go to one of the most famous names out there. Coworkers were nice and the potential to move up is definitely there if you make the effort

    Cons

Loads of drama. Too many managers for too few employees. We had five managers for a staff of 20 (including them) and that was so excessive.

    Pros

Great work environment and as far as salons go, best place to work for stability.

    Cons

Its a huge corporation so you're just a number and corporate lets you know you can easily be replaced. You will only get so far in this company. You will never be able to progress past a certain point.

I worked at Toni & Guy full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Younger staff is really fun to work with. High energy workplace

    Cons

The most days you can ask off in a year is fifteen no matter how long you have worked for them. This isn't even PTO just days off. You will be completely invaluable to management and they will tear you down before ever telling you that you are doing something right.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Value your employees. Management will tear you apart before they ever recognize any of your work. If you treated the employees better they would stick around.

I have been working at Toni & Guy full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Free Hair services for all employees
Make up Classes for Front desk
    Working with people
If you're trained enough as a makeup artist, you get to go to fashion shows

    Cons

Very very low pay for a lot of work
    Get called in a lot
Not enough training for new employees
Hardly ever have any coverage for the front desk for all locations
Treated very badly as a new receptionist

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat the front desk kindly. We do our best, but we're not hairdressers.
