    Pros

The company has a solid product in a niche market. They aren't going anywhere. People will help you when you need it.

    Cons

The company takes a "lean operational model" to the point of absurdity. Little opportunity for advancement despite high turnover rates

    Pros

Company has some good people who eventually quit because of the politics and "punishments" from management. The job is stable but the pay is low.

    Cons

Very strict company "culture". Lots of people are always quitting because of the bad work environment. Vacations are only 2 weeks and can only take a few days. Management discourages time off. Long hours and aggressive management. All projects are late because not enough people.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to invest in their employees and start treating them better. When most of your staff quits in one quarter something is really wrong.

    Pros

Laidback. HR focuses on keeping the employees happy. Many people have stayed employed at Toptech for years!

    Cons

Little room for advancement. Low salaries. Not much I can add here! Great place to work!

    Pros

This is a fun, great place to work. It is a small engineering company with a simple motto: excellence, work hard during the week, and we manage by the numbers. What that means is that you should be able to create great products during the week and still have a family/home life without working overtime! And since they manage by the numbers there is no finger pointing (unlike other jobs). Here if you missed a deadline it is considered a planning failure - and not because you are lazy or incompetent. Toptech is essentially a software company with some limited embedded hardware. They operate an Agile style development environment utilizing Linux, .NET, C#, MySQL. And they will provide you with whatever equipment you need to get the job done. The internal culture has changed from stuffy engineering to "looking for technical rockstars". Last quarter they brought in TWO food trucks for lunch as a reward. This month they started free neck and shoulder massages on Friday. And technical training is required.

    Cons

Toptech Systems is wholly owned by IDEX corporation a 5.5 billion dollar company. Your paycheck comes from IDEX, your health/insurance benefits come from IDEX. Your corporate training requirements come from IDEX. Your office internet access is controlled by IDEX. So, there is some big corporation bureaucracy. Not a fancy office building, but a lean, efficient engineering facility. That means they spend money on things they need and not fake potted plants next to the glass elevator. Tough interview process. They only hire the best - so bring your A game.

    Pros

You can input your ideas in your codes. As long as it works, they don't care.

    Cons

They have issues with software quality control.
