  1. Horrible.

    I worked at Toro Company

    Pros

The people on the lines are wonderful, and care about quality and building a quality product. However, it is sad to see the line workers mistreated.

    Cons

My job was totally misrepresented, and the ethics were atrocious. I have seen it all. Theft. Deception.

    Advice to Management

Don't try to achieve financial goals by suspending operating budgets for the last four months of the fiscal year. Yes, there will be return on shareholder equity, but the business units are junkyards.

    Pros

The people. There are unfavorable people in every company but at Toro there are far more good people that want to help you succeed.
    Good stock performance
Good product line for the most part

    Cons

Systems in engineering and around the organization are stitched together with either a poor connection or implemented in a way to match the process defined over a decade ago rather than what is possible and value added for the workflow
Relies too heavily on tribal knowledge and requires you to become a who you know person in order to perform

    Advice to Management

Invest in the systems to improve productivity. I estimate engineering systems perform at roughly 35% of optimal.

    Pros

Love the company culture and the working environment. Reasonable expectations from every employee. Toro pushes quality of products, services and employee output.

    Cons

This Company subsidies pay increases with Company Culture. Great Culture however, long-term employment at Toro does not get the kids thru College. Too many good employees lost to unheard request for pay for performance. Toro “Talks” a good game in regards to opportunity however, for Mid/Senior level management; however, there is little to no movement in your paycheck except for a select group. No Bonus' for Some Mid Managers while others are killing it...

    Advice to Management

Needs to review Salary Benchmarking Policies.

    Pros

Gained broad experience with finance and MS Excel.

    Cons

Toro uses the internship program to fill a need in the summer rather than develop future employees. No full-time offers are made to interns after graduation. Few job openings are created and mainly arise from an old employee leaving
