    Pros

Big, urban school board. Lots of different roles available. . It's hard to get in, but once you're in, it's a good job.

    Cons

Not a very proactive or progressive school board. Not a lot of training. Not a lot of options to move around.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't change all the policies all the time. Figure out what works and support it. New is not always better

    Pros

Chill environment. It's only a summer job. I just want access to other salary information and they're making me have to write a review.

    Cons

None that I can think of. It's a government job, so work is not that stressful. And again I'm only a summer student.

    Pros

Good pay, can be rewarding if your interested in teaching. This is an ideal job for any college student in STEM field who can communicate well.

    Cons

If you don't live in the east end near Danforth Collegiate, the only school that I am aware of that has this program, it may take a while to get there, and it only runs two hours for each session twice a week. This program is run by teachers who are disorganized at times so payroll is fairly inconsistent.

    Pros

Great benefits and pay, laid back atmosphere for the most part yet plenty of opportunities to contribute if your more of the A type personality! Able to make a positive impact on the community.

    Cons

A little behind technologically. Apart from that, there really aren't any other cons I can think of. Some of the building are kind of old, but that can be nice sometimes!

  10.

Occasional (supply) Teacher - Good Employer

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Large school board = plenty of opportunity to find supply work in the area of your choice, barring that you have strong classroom management skills

    Cons

Unfortunate that your pay as a supply teacher reaches its maximum after working 200 full days, that is, won't make a difference 20 years later...your daily rate is stilted forever, except for incremental raises = about $235 currently.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay supply teachers according to performance...

    Pros

    - Union-devised sick scheme
    - Time off (work/life balance)
    - Diversity of job opportunities
    - Working with some of the most delightful teens on the planet!!

    Cons

    - low skilled management
    - disorganized -- HR, Planning, everything!
    - appears to be a massive mechanism running on its own steam with no brain or logic.
    - Huge sense of entitlement by all aboard ... disgusting and leads to bad decisions and bad promoting.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire people with proper skill and demonstrated ability.
End your quoto scheme for management hires (you know what I am talking about)
Realize that all you are is a corporation and you are no bigger than an individual employee. If it weren't for us, you wouldn't be in business. Just because you are an education scheme doesn't mean that you are simply 'entitled' to good help (teachers). We have needs too and us new hires deserve more consideration and respect than we get.
    - Your 'new mentoring scheme' sucks. Isn't properly supervised by management, ill-qualified teachers seem to volunteer for the gig -- giving NO support to the new teacher (my experience at least).

    Doesn't Recommend
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO
