I worked at Torre-Lazur (more than an year)

    Pros

Steady clientele and a history/reputation of good work. Pockets of brilliance within the agency.

    Cons

Very little work/life balance and no reward for hard work. Agency went from strong leadership to no leadership over the past year. Work is stale and traditional. A few great minds and people but they have little power or influence to push the agency in new direction. Not enough digital work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Empower the right people to push the agency in a better direction and don't be so resistant to change. Digital is now- it's no longer the future.

I have been working at Torre-Lazur full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Very process oriented and training was a priority, when employees needed tools to do their job, it was supplied

    Cons

Very cliquey, growth was granted to those who didn't necessarily earn it and those who worked hard never seemed to get ahead

    I worked at Torre-Lazur

    Pros

My supervisor was very friendly and helpful. The other employees were also friendly, though a bit exclusive. I was only there for 2 months, so that may partially explain why I never really felt like a part of the team.

    Cons

The work was boring and was not challenging. I was always in need of something new to do. It always seemed like nothing was actually being accomplished.

  6.

Great, talented people but a little too traditional.

    Pros

Fantastic people working here, very talented.

    Cons

Very traditional atmosphere for an agency - slowly transitioning to a more innovative, digital focused shop.

    I have been working at Torre-Lazur full-time

    Pros

This agency has good benefits and offers competitive salary.

    Cons

While there are talented interactive employees here, most of the agency, especially upper management can't grasp current digital and interactive strategies, trends, or programs. This has resulted in late night and weekend work for teams and over budget projects. For many creative positions promotions are rare forcing strong talent to move on.

There is a very insular and cliquey culture at MTL and many closed door meetings. The drama level hovers between High and Severe reflecting poorly on morale.

MTL boasts themselves as a digital media agency yet their online presence is an obsolete unresponsive Flash-based website. Flash cannot be viewed on iOS / iPad / Mobile devices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

VPs, Managers and Supervisors should not send Facebook friend requests to employees. It is inappropriate and perceived as spying. It puts employees on the spot to accept invites for fear of blowback. Facebook is for personal use. What employees do on their own time is their business.

Flush out the dead weight to stay competitive and to keep star talent who are passionate about their industry.

    I worked at Torre-Lazur

    Pros

One of the main benefits of TLM is salary compensation. You will get paid well for your work, with fair bonus' and salary increases while you work there. The healthcare is excellent and the number of days off is very fair an above other companies. Especially with the Holiday week off that is generally given each year (it's never a guarantee but always given).

    Cons

The process at TLM is old fashioned, and they are resistant to change. As a coworker once described it's like trying to move the Titanic. The work/life balance is non-existant. People are often there to the wee hours of the night and weekends. Digital knowledge (except for a small group of employee's) is non-existant, and as a result will be the eventual downfall of TLM, especially since those who have been there for many years are resistent to learning the latest technology.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

A revamp of your entire process is required. I highly suggest checking out some of your other sister companies in the Interpublic network and seeing what has made them successful.

Great place for Creatives who love the work

I have been working at Torre-Lazur

    Pros

The Creative department and Planning department are staffed with really smart people. The work is intelligent, effective and results in spot-on solutions to the needs of the pharma market. It is work you can be proud of. Everyone is challenged to contribute to keeping the work at that level. Opportunity is there for those who can make their own: if you can identify a need and demonstrate a good way to fill it, you will find the freedom to make your own place. Junior Creatives are constantly observed for talent and initiative, and mentored for advancement.

    Cons

This place is not for the faint of heart. If you're looking for a 9 to 5 you can cruise along in, this is not it. You're only as good as your <strike>last</strike> current accomplishment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More face-time between upper management and other levels. Word from the top is appreciated any and every time it comes.
