    -best thing about this company is the people, more like a family
    -nice work/life balance

    -sometimes longer hours but normally balances out

    Pros

    Talented people in lots of positions. Good work / life balance, understanding that people have commitments outside of work. Generous time off policies.

    Cons

    Account rules the roost, not a lot of Client control. If the Client says "Jump", Account asks "How high?" and usually without checking with anyone else. Tough to deal with Senior leadership, what's left of it: if they like you, great. If they suddenly don't, they'll find a way to be rid of you.

    Stable job position, not high level of stress stress, slow paced company, friendly employees

    Cons

    Employee tend to stay long and with that its difficult to climb up. Low salary rate

    get some fresh people on board

    Pros

    Benefits, PTO, and the bonus time is very fair
    A very diverse group of personalities makes for an interesting work environment
    Some interesting projects and opportunities to make a different in pharma

    Cons

    Office layout creates an US vs. THEM culture. Account/Finance/Managing Directors on one side, the rest of the agency on the other
    A few bad apples jockeying to score victory in political battles
    Some who overstep or encroach on others groups in order to further their own career

    Advice to Management

    Political backstabbing is having an adverse effect on the people at MTL. There are some individuals who think they know everything there is to know and go about trying to institute change in the wrong way. Managing is about empowering others to do well. Like the saying goes, be the change you wish to see.

    Pros

    Steady clientele and a history/reputation of good work. Pockets of brilliance within the agency.

    Cons

    Very little work/life balance and no reward for hard work. Agency went from strong leadership to no leadership over the past year. Work is stale and traditional. A few great minds and people but they have little power or influence to push the agency in new direction. Not enough digital work.

    Advice to Management

    Empower the right people to push the agency in a better direction and don't be so resistant to change. Digital is now- it's no longer the future.

    Very process oriented and training was a priority, when employees needed tools to do their job, it was supplied

    Cons

    Very cliquey, growth was granted to those who didn't necessarily earn it and those who worked hard never seemed to get ahead

    My supervisor was very friendly and helpful. The other employees were also friendly, though a bit exclusive. I was only there for 2 months, so that may partially explain why I never really felt like a part of the team.

    Cons

    The work was boring and was not challenging. I was always in need of something new to do. It always seemed like nothing was actually being accomplished.

    Fantastic people working here, very talented.

    Very traditional atmosphere for an agency - slowly transitioning to a more innovative, digital focused shop.

    Pros

    This agency has good benefits and offers competitive salary.

    Cons

    While there are talented interactive employees here, most of the agency, especially upper management can't grasp current digital and interactive strategies, trends, or programs. This has resulted in late night and weekend work for teams and over budget projects. For many creative positions promotions are rare forcing strong talent to move on.

    There is a very insular and cliquey culture at MTL and many closed door meetings. The drama level hovers between High and Severe reflecting poorly on morale.

    MTL boasts themselves as a digital media agency yet their online presence is an obsolete unresponsive Flash-based website. Flash cannot be viewed on iOS / iPad / Mobile devices.

    Advice to Management

    VPs, Managers and Supervisors should not send Facebook friend requests to employees. It is inappropriate and perceived as spying. It puts employees on the spot to accept invites for fear of blowback. Facebook is for personal use. What employees do on their own time is their business.

    Flush out the dead weight to stay competitive and to keep star talent who are passionate about their industry.
