Pros
1. If you love the technology (either PCs or consumer electronics), employees get to see products in the pipeline and use products that have just been released.
2. There is a good group dynamic at the company
3. The company does a good job retaining its employees and identifying new roles and opportunities for them
Cons
1. The office is located in Markham
2. It is a Japanese-owned subsidiary that has little control over its destiny with minimal resources
3. The food at the on-site cafeteria is okay (at best)
Advice to Senior Management
Continue to invest in your employees
Pros
Fair pay, good benefits, 3 weeks vac. It is a resume booster to have the Toshiba name on it
Cons
No training if your are located outside of Markham (not sure about what they offer at the Markham HQ)
Little training offered is done by webinars
No support from upper management
Immediate manager knows the business but does not know how to mentor or lead a team
No marketing for business solutions. Just you. Two legs and a heartbeat.
All marketing goes into the laptop and tv division

The opportunity to see canada and work with so many people>
Cons
The travel was extensive, no balance.
