    Pros

The Bbnefits are good, SOME of the people that work there are ok.

    Cons

The Senior staff are VERY prejudice and unfair

    Advice to Management

Talk TO your employees, take their suggestions and don't think you're better than them.

I have been working at Touro Infirmary full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Touro respects work/life matters and most managers allow off time when sick or when family members are sick - Decent benefits - Great work environment - Acceptable job training, great place for new graduates to begin their careers

    Cons

    - Extremely low pay compared to other hospital jobs of the same position - Employees must dual-function in other job categories not outlined in job description - Little to no quarterly pay raises, even though the company stated that there may be performance-based raises after quarterly reviews. But no one ever gets a raise. - Revamped Time-Off policy has good and bad sides to it.

    Advice to Management

    - Talk more to employees and focus on employee satisfaction first and foremost. We understand that patients come first, but when you have disgruntled employees working for you, it reflects towards the patients. - Have departmental goals and quarterly employee outings to boost morale. Give us a reason to jump out of bed ready for the day - Leadership needs to take more accountability for actions and not just "Pass the Buck" on the employees below them.

I worked at Touro Infirmary full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Touro has an abundance of dedicated employees. There is a potential for Touro to get back on track to being a great place to work.

    Cons

No programs for personal enrichment or career growth. Unless you are an RN there is no where to go. Human resources seems out of touch with anything other than disciplinary action. A very "punitive" environment with no emphasis on improvement at a personal or system level. When things go wrong management looks at "who to blame" and it is never at the higher levels.

    Advice to Management

Senior management needs to recognize that it is the dedication of countless employees who have made Touro what it is today. Management does not back up their words with action when it comes to employee appreciation.

I worked at Touro Infirmary full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work is not hard to do at all if you like fast pace, get good training and love people.

    Cons

There was a slight chance you would be able to advance, the pay was low, you only get a $0.50 pay raise every 4 year if I remember correctly, you work harder for your pay which wasn't that good to begin with. There is also a horrible turnover rate.

    Advice to Management

I think the workers need to be compensated better than they have in the past.

I have been working at Touro Infirmary full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful team of rehab therapists, nurses, case managers and doctors who really care and fight for each patient. As a therapist, I had access to treat some of the most difficult and medically complicated brain injury patients in the southeast.

    Cons

I kept a VERY busy daily schedule, expect to work more than the 40 hours per week you are paid for, but you will not usually mind because everyone is so devoted to their patients and to the rehab team. There is a focus on daily productivity. It is expected that you go above and beyond for each patient in every scenario. (Which isn't exactly a con if that already is your work ethic!)

    Advice to Management

More inclusion of upper management in the daily schedules and treatments with therapists, so that they understand more of what goes on on the units.
