Base pay was lower than other companies, but you could make this up in your year end bonus.

    Pros

Supportive co-workers, efficient use of time and resources, respectful senior management, abundant opportunities to shine

    Cons

Slightly less than industry benchmark of salary, pay raise for actuarial exam passed is low compared to many other competitors

    Advice to Management

Merger should not compromise on employee benefits. Raise the pay and exam bonus/pay raise associated with passing exams.

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The team environment is very helpful for new associates. There is constant communciation between senior consultants and new associates, making knowledge transfer an integral part of the office culture.

    Cons

There are many tight deadlines and a fifty hour week and turn into a sixty hour week on Friday afternoon at times.

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The company prides itself on taking care of its associates and it does a decent job. The benefits are good. The freedom and autonomy allow a good work life balance even when there is lots of travel, which can come in spurts or be a constant thing depending on what you're doing. One of the best things is working with terrific people. The firm does interesting research in the HR field and the work we do helps people improve their workday experiences.

    Cons

Stress levels can be high. Lower-level salaries don't seem to be competitive (e.g., below consultant). There has been a lot of change recently.
