I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Smart people, constantly changing opportunities, limitless growth potential for those who want to advance (and demonstrate the capabilities).

    Cons

Can be stressful, but not unlike any other professional services environment. Can have that "big company" feel when trying to manage the bureaucracy.

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The people are smart, helpful and team players. They have free food many days, which saves $$. I like my job and feel secure, but I know a lot of people who have been downsized after the merger. The benefits are very good. I like that they focus a lot on employee health and work/ life balance.

    Cons

It seems there is always some downsizing, but then they hire to replace the eliminated positions. This is bad if you are downsized, or a good friend/ co-worker is and they replace the position with temp after temp because they don't want the headcount.

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

Collaborative culture, very high caliber talent, live and breathe client-centric values, outstanding collective expertise and resources; very well managed financially; have made intelligent acquisitions

    Cons

As in any large organization, there are some who aggressively self-promote to get ahead; fiscal discipline means staffing can get tight; promotion process can be very slow (the downside of being very carefully thought through)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Develop, recognize and reward your "junior" leaders for their contributions to building top talent

I have been working at Towers Watson full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

    - The culture is inviting and empowering
    - The people are incredibly smart and personable
    - You are given paid days off to study for actuarial exams
    - Many opportunities for growth and raises

    Cons

    - Work is demanding and will require more than just a 9-5 day. I actually still take this a positive that the work is so involved, but a balance between your work and life is very important

    Pros

You couldn't ask for a better group of coworkers. From analyst to senior consultant, everyone is willing to help you out. Everyone is highly intelligent so it keeps you motivated to produce the best work possible.

    Cons

As with consulting in general, you have sporadic work weeks. They has been an increase in the number of long work weeks. This is partly because of the office being currently under staffed.
