I worked at Toyo as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

This company has a good working environment. People there are friendly, consists of multiple of races and from different countries. Salary for fresh graduates are higher than average.

    Cons

Lack of training provided due to the people there are busy for their tasks. No proper training and guidance from the seniors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Proper training and guidance should be provided for the fresh graduate or intern students.

I have been working at Toyo full-time for more than a year

    Pros

We can gain good knowledge here.

    Cons

Who has more ability to bear the mentally harassment from senior persons, he can work for long period here. Compare to work salary is very less.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Mentally harassment is more. Behavior of senior people is very bad, specially in instrumentation design department.

Former Employee - Construction Engineer in Bharūch (India)

I worked at Toyo as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

One of the rare companies to offer Over time hr (O.T) pays in construction field,Overall package, timely salary ,allowances & accommodation wise best.

    Cons

As TEC japan is a professional org...present .TEIL is no more in par...Worked only one year in a specific site, LSTK project.zero planning of work from the top management, mobilising most unskilled contractors for cost saving, some some times deploying unskilled labour supply contractors for even highly skilled jobs, due to the improper management &loss of capablity of top management resulting in zero quality of job...to clients. No control on contractors, as contractors will control employees on top management shelter.
Professionalism will be totally missed , and no motivation to employees as they work on site like labours, and also partiality run on high between permanent and contract employees...adding to this Communication gap is vast in this organizatiion

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

TEC japan should immediately look in to TEIL indian management to save their reputation in market, rather than getting satisfied through getting new projects.......So please deploy professional & competent contractors to execute the projects with atleast minimum quality and safety.

I worked at Toyo full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Always a busy company due to lots of pojects ( due to cost effectiveness). So will have quality work with no idle time.
    Responsibilitie are given.
Very good during initial stage of career due to the exposure to different projects in short period
Good for those only who want to work on central railway line companies & if one has no other option.

    Cons

    Salary:
Salary is in midrange. Not a paymaster.
Salary here in offer letter is the max you can earn But for good companies offered salary is the minimum employee can earn in 1 year time.(Experienced emloyees will understand this quote)
There is a trimonthly component ( 10 %) paid after every quarter. Means in hand monthly salary is less.
    Overtime is 150 – 200 Rs/ Hour.
    Bonus & LTA – see section D & E

    HR Dept:

Most unprofessional, unskilled & worst dept ever seen in my 11+ year career among 6 companies.
Mostly they are experienced Arts/commerce graduates.
They behave like they are running the company & procedures are same like government offices.
Ex: - No Fright (House mobilization) reimbursement during joining.
After selection no official offer letter is provided with breakup so one cannot understand the max salary philosophy.
Std working hours - 8.25 Hr
For local conveyance taxi is allowed only for M05 (Manager) level & above.
If travel time is approx 24 hrs still they send senior engineers/designers by train/Luxury bus.
Flight is not allowed. This is what company cares about their employees.
For onsite opportunities (even for 6 months period) company asks to sign the bond for 2 years or extra income earned during onsite role. In some cases company sent the engineers onsite first & then asked to sign the bond there. Employees were not in any position to refuse. In one instance they fired an employee who refused to go to onsite due to bond criterion.
Also company used onsite opportunity as a tool for some employees who are planning to leave.

    Company Culture :
Partiality & Groupism exist especially in piping dept. More or little, it is there in others also.
OT culture- if you work on extra time means you are hardworking this is the management view.
If you are observing std 8.25 hrs means you are casual & not interested in job though you completing the targets. This rule applies to all, irrespective of designation.
So most employees do not work till lunch. And work extra after std hours for overtime earning (which are peanuts) & to have a proper working image to remain in the company.
Overtime is always there including Saturdays & no limit. So for a good professional it is very very difficult to sustain in this environment.
Lot of Leads are diploma or ITI holders & they have their own group of peoples to support.
No standardisation of work & instructions so it will be very bad experience for those who are coming from good companies. Each project has his own work laws.
Not a good place for mid level executives. (those relocating to mumbai from overseas or Delhi)

    Bonus:
Bonus for April to March (of Previous Year) is been paid in the month of October or November.
If you leave company say after April (completing full financial year) still you will not get bonus. Reason given is, as you are not present till bonus declaration date.
If you leave company after taking bonus still you will lose half year bonus (april to Nov)
Means 1+ month gross salary is always at stakes. Worst scenario will be if you leave in September you will lose 1.5 month salary in component called bonus.

    LTA:
Very strange rules here. Try to see avoid this component (But non optional in this company)
LTA is provided to save employee income tax. (Most of cases we will be in 20 % IT slot) . LTA eligibility will be after completion of 1 year service. No financial year approach.
Now suppose if you leave in 1.5 year you could lose half year LTA to save 20% Income tax.
Or in other words you will lose 15 K to save 2k income tax. Also you will get this money after year completion.
NO LTA in package means, your take home will be higher.
In some companies this component is optional. If your plan is long term, then & then you choose this component. Some good companies used to give LTA in final settlement on pro-rata basis for incomplete year scenarios. But here they will deduct & say you have not complete full year.
Means company is using this component to have a financial check on you & with intention to deduct as much as possible.

    Punch timing:
If you leave 1 minute before or come late by 1 minute (after 9.30 am) , you have to apply for half day leave irrespective of machine timing errors.Punch timimg is used to cut short your leaves or salary.

    Increment:
Big partiality happens especially in piping dept.I have seen as low as 4 % rise for hardworking professionals & 40 % rise for not working & favored employees.

I have been working at Toyo full-time

    Pros

Wide variety of projects. So one gets a very good opportunity to work on different projects.

    Cons

    HR is horrible.
Top management should get out of their offices to see what is happening in the world.
Incompetent people who are close to top management are favoured.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please get out of your offices and see how other companies are functioning. HR policies should be humane. Try to weed out the bureuacracy and encourage a healthy competition.
