    I worked at Toyota Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Insurance was very inexpensive and good provider. Company was new.

    Cons

    Working conditions were not what I wanted. Worked near the furnace and was sucking in carbon but could not get a appointment for a mask fitting. Upon leaving each day my face mouth/nose was black with soot. According to safety it was safe and within standards. Bags of carbon dumped into the furnace was labeled with a warning about it causing black lung. The Japanese managers were more interested in keeping the place clean than peoples health and safety.

    Advice to Management

    Replace your safety people and adhere to real standards. Hire people with experience of working around a furnace.

    Pros

    Stable, great benefits, lots of training, people care about each other, most of management team listens and cares and tries hard. High tech, new equipment, great maintenance team, big investment in mostly rural / agricultural area.(Most) Everyone is trying very hard to do well. Promote from within (mostly).

    Cons

    Hot, long hours in some areas, poor communication from Japan HQ about some things, some mid level staff are over their heads, needs more community involvement, better pay raises, do some more things for employees. Things change without enough communication. Takes too long to hire people when someone gets promoted or transfers or leaves, then we have to rush to try to get the new person trained and then they don't know what they're doing before they get cleared to work on their own, and then we ALL suffer with low production and quality problems. Japanese managers and visitors work hard and want to help, but don't communicate enough with Americans, maybe they can't or don't understand how we do things over here. Too slow to make changes that are needed for people and for better results.

    Advice to Management

    More training for leaders. Show employees you really care, don't just say it. Give better pay raises or people are going to go work other places that are hiring now - got to keep up with what other company's are paying or you're going to lose good people at every level in all departments. Hire and replace people faster... why does it take soooo long to hire people? Be more flexible with some policies. Japanese need to trust Americans more and communicate better.

    I have been working at Toyota Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Work is easy and nobody cares about quality. All they worry about is hitting their target every night. Clock in do whatever and get a pay check. Great stepping stone.

    Cons

    Human resource, management, supervisor, and team leaders. Worst management I've ever worked for. Issues never get resolved, ridiculous counter measure that never work like the "white X", lazy maintenance that sits in the break room, under paid CNC operators, Kimata is oblivious to this problem. This is a wake up call get a new staff.

    Advice to Management

    Won't listen anyway.

    Poor company culture Terrible headquarters location- difficult to attract high level talent Corporate politics often hindered progress Poor work-life balance

    Advice to Management

    Learn to work together and consider moving corporate functions to a legitimate city. Company coasted too much on name and not enough on providing a positive, welcoming work environment in a location that is exciting and intriguing to young professionals.

    Pros

    The people, location, onsite medical, medical benefits. Job security. Could be a great place if they cleaned house and invested in high performers.

    Cons

    Too many managers, few leaders. Compensation is subpar. Education is unimportant. Coasters paradise. Unethical practices by former management.

    Advice to Management

    Work on attracting better talent, retain for high performers, stop promoting people above there abilities. Regain the trust of your employees.

    Pros

    There were a lot of learning opportunities and a good variety of projects to grow and take on. We supported numerous customers across the country. Smart team of technical people provided a good environment to incubate ideas. Good opportunity for low level technicians.

    Cons

    Pay scale was not on par with industry standard. Company did not acknowledge increased job duties or additional school/certifications. Too many chefs in the kitchen.

    Advice to Management

    Recognize your quality employees and quit allowing them to leave. That is causing a tremendous drain on talent and skills. Allow your leaders to lead and not change strategic direction at every turn.

    Benefits and made good friends

    Cons

    Terrible management (entry level management), favoring others to promotion, extremely hot environment, hours changing at last min, there policy is a little reckless, most of all salary is poor. Managers are even under paid so no one really cares.

    Advice to Management

    Get new management!!!!! Or pay for better management. Tica has to many flaws to stay working there. Get better security due to thieft, vandalizing vehicles and that bomb threat from last month. And a new improve policy that doesn't take away from the worker but benefits them.

    Excellent management lower to upper. Good opportunities to learn a lot. Great health benefits.

    Not a stressful job, but cultural expectations and understaffing result in need to put in long days and weekends. Poor compensation. Salary is

    good benefits, good experience working with a variety of people of varying experiences and capabilities

    Cons

    low compensation for the area, long hours may be required, limited upward mobility, a lot of turn around due to lack of respect for management and therefore a lot of inexperience in the dept., poor management

    listen to what your employees have to say, take actions on their comments, respect their opinions
