I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A.

    Pros

Reliable employer, average pay, solid benefits

    Cons

Company chooses to maintain a status quo rather than allowing cross training for associates.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay attention to generations X and Y - they are the future of the company, unless they choose to leave first.

I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A.

    Pros

this company actually cares about the satisfaction of its employees in their jobs. there is profit sharing. and there are annual raises for most employees. also, the company seems to be actually interested in the particular skills and talents of the employee. hours are even somewhat flexible.

    Cons

honestly nothing about the company. there are some individual personalities that can be difficult, but that would be anywhere. the company policies and atmosphere themselves are very good.

I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A.

    Pros

Great culture and everyone's opinion counts

    Cons

It is a flat organization. Little to know areas to advance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Job rotations would be a motivator with little cost to the organization.

I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

    Great benefits. Fairly decent pay.

    Cons

Management runs company like most other organizations with short-term view in mind. Many executives are near retirement-age so they are slightly set in their ways. This can also be a good thing since there will be opportunities at the top when some retire.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start taking a longer-term view to the business. Start making decisions based upon business decisions, not just what how you've done things in the past.

I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

TMHU continues to lead the market and has a great future with a lot of opportunity for growth. A lot of people at TMHU are bitter about the closure of the headquarters from Irvine, CA to Columbus, IN, however it's really going to put the company in a good position and will make it a stronger organization in the long-run. Most everyone was offered their jobs in IN and they are taking care of those who chose to leave TMHU with a good package, so the company is treating everyone extremely well. TMHU offers good compensation with excellent benefits, offers a good work/life balance, and really values their employees. A great place to work.

    Cons

Because it is a smaller company, there may not be advancement opportunities that arise as quickly as larger companies, but even that is changing as the company grows.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to invest in your employees and lead with integrity.

I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company feels like you are working with a family. Everyone works well as a team. Overall there is stability and good benefits.

    Cons

It is difficult to advance unless someone retires or leaves. The company is moving its headquarters to Columbus, Indiana and there will be massive turnover as a result. There is very little associate recognition and no formal program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Look for more ways to recognize associates and to reward those who bring new ideas to the table and help the company improve. Also, don't forget to reward those who help you climb by helping them climb too.

I have been working at Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A. full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Not much. I really cannot even think of anything to fill up the twenty word min.

    Cons

Dysfunctional, Broken Promises, Unorganized, No Collaboration, Hidden Agendas. They do not invest in the employees, i.e. training, IT, etc. The feeling is that you are lucky enough to have a job and you feel like a just a "warm body"

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Quit, and get real leaders in place.
