I have been working at Toyota of Bowie full-time for more than a year

    Pros

When I started I was put through a class on product knowledge so when I actually started selling cars I was confident when talking to customers. I love Toyota so it makes it easy to sell a product you believe in.

    Cons

I had to get use to working weekends but if you are in sales and want to make good money then thats the trade off you have to make.

I worked at Toyota of Bowie

    Pros

There are no really positives to working here. But if you are a sales man and u base your life around the business u habe the potential to make a pretty penny. On commision alone

    Cons

Management team has no idea how to manage . They belittle employees, and make them terrified of expressing their concerns. Management steals deals from staff. Unrealistic sales goals, lies to customers to make deals at any cost, no integrity or professionalism in the work place. In my time at toyota I witnessed some illegal practices and violation of federal and state regulation. 1500 salary/drawer for a mandatory 54 hour work week, unnecessary pressure on staff. Management is disrespectful. Sexual harassment is a big issue to women employees and is summed up as the "car business". Racism has been an issue with statements from management saying that they need to "protect their kind". Overall my experience left me depressed and regretting the work week. I darn near jumped out the window when I recieved a new job offer. To hell with Toyota of bowie

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take some classes in management, regulation and business. Educate yourselves of the importance of enciroment and culture in the work place and get hip to the federal and state labor laws and mandatory business practices

While I learned much about sales, and even business, I was glad to have moved on.

I have been working at Toyota of Bowie

    Pros

Some co-workers were extremely nice which made MORE it bearable to work there

    Cons

Mngmt is VERY disrespectful. Constant ridicule & negative comments from senior sale reps & mngmt. You were ONLY worth speaking to if you sold massive amounts of cars. it's an EXTREMELY high turnover at this dealership becuase they just need sales people to do the dirty work of bringing consumer to the dealership so that sales managers can " close" the deal and give you a fleet fee of $95 before tax. Mngmnt will lie and make up things to close deals. If you're a person with morals and character you WILL not survive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the commission realistic. Treat employees with respect that breeds a better work environment and most of all STOP THE LIES AND DECEIPTFULNESS
