    Pros

Started as seasonal and was asked to stay on.
If you work hard then you get hours. Simple as that!
Slack off and you don't get any hours or lose your job. The choice is yours.
Management looks out for the people who ask questions, work hard, don't call in sick, and give that little extra.

    Cons

Very little training coming out of season.
Starting pay minimum wage, even with several years of retail experience (experience does not matter, I was told I had no experience with this company)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider starting pay at more than minimum wage (especially for people with experience in retail) (ever try to live on $7.93 an hour?)
Set aside time in the schedule for PK, R-learnings (as part of the truck crew, boh there doesn't seem to be any time to get these done on time)

    Pros

The people you interact with are the best. Co-workers and customers. Couldn't ask for a better atmosphere to be a part of.

    Cons

Compensation could be more competitive for the part time positions. This would help retain team members longer. Overall a good place to work.

    Pros

Fun place to work, great health benefits, very laid back policies, no drug test, my team is like my family

    Cons

When corporate isn't making money then they can't afford to pay you so we're always cutting hours. Pay is a joke.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Start caring about your employees.

    Pros

Very flexible hours, you get to work with kids, being around toys all day, and the pay is better than minimum wage.

    Cons

Pushy parents can be very disruptive, it is difficult to move upwards in the company, and it can become more than a little monotonous, but overwhelming during the holiday season.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try to strive for retention of long term employees instead of burning through them. We saw a massive turnover rate in my time there.

Current Employee - Department Supervisor in Bloomington, IL

    Pros

It is fun to sell toys, the benefits are decent, and the vacation time is fantastic. They provide opportunity for advancement if you prove yourself and something opens up.

    Cons

It is hard to wait for something to open up to be able to advance. The leadership tries to be helpful but training is extremely lacking. Christmas time is stressful but you can get a ton of hours if you're good.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get a better training program please!
