I worked at Toys ''R'' Us

    Pros

I enjoyed working at Toys R Us. Get to be around people at all times. My store was a little out of sync in my opinion but coworkers were great

    Cons

The pay was average(what is expected of a retail job)
There was only a small amount of training which made it difficult in the beginning

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus more or training new employees and the store will run more smoothly. Also encourage upward communication and listen to what the frontline employees have to say.

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us part-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Fun environment, Good for a high school student looking for part time work. Fun work, Great managers. The interview was a little degrading but other then that it was a good experience.

    Cons

the interview was a little degrading, the lunch shifts were short and there isnt anywhere to eat around. Other then that the job was easy, not challenging,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would recommend giving longer lunches since there isnt anywhere close to eat and not many people bring there lunch from home. Especially if they are working full time.

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us

    Pros

Very upbeat and exciting to work for, specifically during the holiday season. The training and on boarding process was quick and easy.

    Cons

Very little feedback or development was used after the initial hiring process so you were a little in the dark on your performance.

I worked at Toys ''R'' Us full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The staff and management are friendly and understanding. It was a very positive and fun place to work.

    Cons

Pay was on the low side for mgmt. for what was expected of us. The DM would hire outside the company instead of promoting the management from within. Not all Toys r us operate this way but our region does.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It would be to look at your turnover rate in upper mgmt. and how many of them were from outside the company, Promote from within and pay you mgmt. well and they will in turn stay with your company and drive sales to the fullest potential. Make sure the DM's are aware of the talent that lies within their stores.
