    Pros

Got hired fast and working within a week. I worked in the electronics department and the work flow was non stressful.

    Cons

No training what so ever and if one were to mess up be prepared to be chewed out by a manager for not knowing. The only training you get is being put beside a cashier for a day and that's it. If your a student just be grateful you get a handful of hours even though the store is understaffed.

    Advice to Management

Train employees properly!!! Part timers are the back bone of the workers so hours should accommodate them more generously.

    Pros

You work with great people. I like seeing people grow and succeed in their job. There is a great product to sell to our customer.

    Cons

Reporting is out of control. Lots of pressure on senior management that trickles down to the stores. Another day, another number to chase.

    Advice to Management

You might think it would be fun but be ready to be micromanaged!

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

10% discount for employees, but sometimes there are special days they increase this...especially before the holidays.

    Cons

Health plan has been changed to a high deductible plan requiring a lot of out of pocket, although the company does deposit some funds in an account to be applied against medical expenses. The company will match 100% of 401K contributions up to 4% of salary.

    Advice to Management

Needs to work more efficiently with team members. Higher expectations from them.

  7. Overall good environment, I enjoyed it greatly.

    Pros

Awesome work environment, great leadership, incentives, everyone is so willing to help you with whatever you need help on, training is great and many opportunities to move up.

    Cons

Long hours, rude customers, complicated programs, the only thing I disliked was having to rearrange the items that were thrown everywhere after the shift, you had to stay until you fixed your section.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    Pros

    > Really fast-paced during the holidays, so work days fly by > Employee discount on merchandise > Gives you greater appreciation/respect for anybody working in retail > Made me more patient as a person > Further developed my problem-solving skills

    Cons

    > If you're seasonal (like I was), they'll never let you forget it. Most of the regular employees won't even bother learning your name. > Only a few hours of training, and then you're just supposed to figure things out as you go along > As with all customer service jobs, you must deal with occasionally unpleasant customers

    Advice to Management

    > Make the seasonal employees feel a little less disposable

    Pros

This company gave me many opportunities and experience. I've grown a lot and developed a wealth of experience over the last 19 years.

    Cons

Company not in growth mode. Hanging onto last shred of market share.

    Advice to Management

One size fits all approach does not work.
