I have been working at Trade Secret part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

The only pro's I got out of this job was painting my nails regularly. And discounts on professional beauty products wasn't terrible.

    Cons

The company was so cheap that there was only ever one employee on staff ever, and at minimum wage and a really screwy commission tier it was nearly impossible to make any money at this place.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Team leadership would have been nice, because there was no connectivity through out the staff.

I worked at Trade Secret full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

As a manager, it was nice to have your own store, and build a great team while foucing on our Customers and amazing Customer service

    Cons

The company was flip flop, no job security. You could lose your job at any moment,no room for growth, pay was not good at all. Manager were starting off at 9 an hour for $15 to $17 dollars an hour worth of work! Only reason I was making 11.25$ is because I was with Trade secret when they were own by regis salon. And got a 25cent raise in the first year . But when premier salon took over no more pay increase, sick days went out the window, no more personal days, and the insurance sucks!!! You can't even manage your own store now. Be careful who you hire because it takes forever to fire someone!!!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try build a bear! Better pay for management to play with children all day ($18 to $21 an hr)

    - untrained stylists
    - no loss prevention
    - horrible, ignorant, co-workers
    - little pay per hour
    - not enough hours
