Great way to learn about the breadth of fixed income, but only at a very high-level.

Assistant Vice President (Former Employee) Jersey City, NJ

ProsHours were good. Started bright and early, but always left by 6pm at the latest. Almost never worked on weekend.

ConsWIthout trading experience, seems like it would be tough to advance.

Good place to work for, but...

Associate - Client Services (Current Employee) London, England (UK)

ProsTradeweb's electronic fixed-income platform is used by all major banks and also by lots of other banks and asset managers. So it's a well established brand. As Tradeweb can still be considered a start up, the atmosphere is "relaxed" and there is also no official dress code (important to some people). Good place to get to know the business of an ECN.

ConsThe learning curve is steep. But to be honest, after six months you know what you're supposed to know (of course depending on the department you're working in). The knowledge you gain is specific to Tradeweb's trading systems and other products, hence very narrowed.

Advice to Senior ManagementAs a rather small company, listen more to staff and involve them in a moderate way in projects so they are for a couple of hours (weeks/months) challenged and can contribute to the companies growth. Otherwise you are on the 'wrong' way to establishing a corporate culture for a small company which lives of their innovations.

Fun place to work, but there are negatives

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) City of London, England (UK)

    ProsVery friendly place to work,
All the equipment I could ever need possibly need was provided
    Good benefits and perks
    Chance for travel

ConsPoor communications, especially from management (both on tactics and strategies)
Management would not listen to staff ideas
Working hours could be a bit anti-social at time for life outside work

Advice to Senior ManagementTalk to your staff
Do not think that making some one do a few extra hours in the office makes you a better manager, doubly so when you do not have a few extra hours work for them to do.

Not going to go far with this company

Assistant Vice President (Current Employee) New York, NY

Prosfriendly co-workers, nice perks and benefits, good networking opportunities, okay bonuses, great technology support staff, learning opportunities available across the company

Conspoor and weak management, no career advancement, lack of communication from management and upper management, no procedures in place for dealing with problems, very steep learning curve, lots of manual processes

Advice to Senior Managementlisten to staff recommendations, learn how to motivate and help further careers, rewards should be more tied to performance

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
