    Pros

    - Great PTO
    - Great training
    - If you belong to a certain demographic, tons of advancement

    Cons

    - Office politics
    - micro management
    - Mediocre senior leadership coupled with poor middle management
    - You have to be a certain color *wink*wink* to advance

    Advice to Management

Becoming a category of one doesn't mean you develop, promote, and mentor soley based off of racial stereotype; a great company is one that sees value in all and capitalizes on its diversity

    Pros

    *Advanced Claim System.
*Other than that nothing else I can think of unless you like paying for your own coffee and Christmas gifts.

    Cons

*Advanced Claim System is used as an excuse to pile work on the adjusters.
*Multi-million dollar company that requires you to buy your own Christmas gifts and then thank them for their generosity.
*Blatant favoritism in promotions and career advancement.
*If you aren't a favorite you well be pigeonholed and well not be able to transfer anywhere.
    *Ever increasing demands and workload.
*As a result of the above you're wasting your time if you do this job well.
    *Low pay for work load.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so cheap and show a little appreciation.

    Pros

The training received at Travelers is above the rest. They have a great way of making one feel confident and secure for a larger company.

    Cons

Mid/Upper Management shifted and the expectation of the employee becomes unmanageable. Mid Management is motivated to progress employees based on bias and personal opinions and emotions and not based on merrit.

    Pros

Stable financial organization, lots of training, most of the leadership are competent and know what they're doing. Great benefits and compensation. Vast career opportunities.

    Cons

Unit managers constantly interrupt your workday keeping you from doing your job with high quality. They give worthless training when they don't know how to do the wok themselves. They hire a bunch of trainees and make everyone go to training when you are not a trainee taking you away from your desk and servicing your customers. "quality committee" is a joke they are not adding any value to the floor only a lot of more process and busy work. Managers are not working together though they are constantly in meetings, they are away creating more process, ineffective training and wasted time away from their team and never there to help and guide them. That's what we need not more training. Quality committee people please stop! The office quality will increase when the managers are there to make sure their teams are getting what they need and then maybe will they increase their credibility.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employes, plan training more effectively, trainers need to be credible and stop overloading employees. All managers need to know how to lead and be there to help their team and stop wasting time in meetings. Encourage more work/life balance.

    Pros

Good benefits, medical (covered at 90% or greater) , dental, vision, prescription medications pension plan, 4 weeks paid time off per year. Claims system is reliable and adequate to perform the job. The overall culture of the organization is conservative. The dress code is business /casual and most people lean towards business. This place is very corporate so be prepared for the usual politics and games that have to be played in order to improve your standing with the office/company.

    Cons

This office has some (not all) not so talented supervisors which leaves a lot of talented adjusters, etc without any opportunity for advancement. After working here long enough it is clear that upper management should be aware of the lack of talent in some of their line supervisors, however, I have yet to see them address this issue. Also turnover is relatively high in this office. This should not be the case as the company offers stellar benefits (see pros), It makes no sense to hire so many people and you cannot develop and retain their talent. No bottled water, cups or coffee.

    Advice to Management

As previously stated by another poster management should consider filling internal opportunities within.
