I worked at Treat America Food Services full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Management didn't really check up on you, just went in and ran your route. You Only work Monday through Friday.

    Cons

Too many people for too many departments, it was hard to get a definitive answer to anything. Trucks would break down often, if it was first thing in the morning you would have to wait for the mechanics to get in.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees for improvement ideas

I worked at Treat America Food Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Fun people. Opportunities for OT.

    Cons

PTO is a joke. You have to work for a YEAR to get any PTO, and even then it's only 10 days a year. Bereavement time off is insulting. Insurance cost for employees is too high, it doesn't make sense for employees to use their insurance. HR is very inconsistent. No loyalty to employees. Raises were withheld multiple years. Employees were expected to get to work on snow days with very dangerous driving conditions. The CEO was great, but every senior level management member was very difficult to please and unwilling to make improvements.

    Advice to Management

Your pay is not at all competitive, so you need to offer better benefits and PTO.

I have been working at Treat America Food Services full-time

    Pros

The actual work is enjoyable. Acceptable health benefits. Safe work environment.

    Cons

Long hours (well over 60 hours/week) with no overtime after 40 hours. Management fails to listen to employee suggestions. Poor work-life balance.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees because they are out their driving the routes, not you.

Good company to work for initially, but they grew too big too fast and have trouble maintaining themselves effectively.

    Pros

Good work/life balance. Fun people to work with.

    Cons

Questionable raises, unattainable expectations. The company seems to have procured too many smaller businesses and has trouble with HR and effectively managing EVERYONE.

    Pros

When it was Calderon Brothers, location was great from where I lived, secure parking , mostly friendly. Not sure how this is since they were brought out by Treat America.

    Cons

When it was Calderon, they played favorites a lot, they did not treat all of their employees fairly, some management was very judgmental, it was frown upon for the front office to talk to the back office personnel.

    Advice to Management

Be open to criticism from employees and don't take it personally and be open to suggestions from employees on new and changing policies.

    Pros

I had a very good supervisor, our team generated more profits than had been generated before for the company.

    Cons

I have no bad experience while I was there.

    Advice to Management

You should have kept Michael Watkins as a Supervisor/Manager.
