    Pros

I worked with Trefis as a UX consultant.

    Cons

I was engaged to design some revisions to the Trefis product. The founder asked me to concentrate on a particular section of the tool; we had a pleasant conversation, and then I took a bit of time to generate some new designs. When I showed the designs to the founder, he became very upset, and demanded to know why I hadn't worked on a section of the tools we hadn't discussed, in order to impress him (?!). I declined further work. I know others in the design community in Boston who have done work for this company. Their experience is similar to mine. Avoid!

    Advice to Management

Learn about the design process, and don't expect people to perform mind-reading in addition to more mundane design duties.

Steep learning curve, very little hand-holding but excellent feedback system to help analysts improve. Politics-free appraisal and very good performance-linked bonus system. Work-life balance

    Cons

Few opportunities to grow within the organisation Career growth stagnates after the first couple of years; better move out No leadership or management in place to guide India office

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Trefis full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) A steep learning curve as new hires are entrusted with high responsibilities from day one, 2) If you're passionate about understanding companies, their products and strategies, chances are that you will love this job as you get a lot of freedom to research on your portfolio of companies and add to the firm's knowledge base on that company, 3) Very transparent and a good performance remuneration system. If you work hard, you can expect your bonuses to rise in-tandem. 4) Leadership team in Boston is very good, helpful and provide feedback which is constructive. 5) Overall, a good work environment with absolutely no politics.

    Cons

    1) There is less hand holding and training, so only the hard stomached remain here. 2) The lack of a leadership team in Delhi.

    Advice to Management

Place a dedicated leadership team in Delhi

    Advice to Management

Leadership team is doing best to their ability and are in continuous process of improving. Very good PMS in place
