Pros
Quality work with high local profile.
Good company name recognition.
Creative yet business environment with many talented professionals.
Diverse work and projects keep things fresh.
Cons
Poor pay and little room for negotiation.
They underestimate the amount of work it takes to complete projects which results in many over worked and over stressed employees.
Too much time spent on CYA work makes doing the actual job difficult.
Advice to Senior Management
Needs a middle-senior management overhaul to fix the environment. Too many people are scared to lose their jobs and looking over their shoulder, rather than focus on doing a quality job.

Certain management and front line employees are diamonds in the rough at this company and are trying to navigate it to profitability in a dying industry
Cons
Previous leadership under the Zell cronies led to a complete mess and created a very unstable environment at the once reputable Tribune company

Clean house with old cronies, promote from within and try some drastic to be leader in transforming the media business.

Advice to Senior Management
Complete the bankruptcy and embark on a strategy as we need closure. In a challenging industry, figure out how to get rewarded for content

Friendly co workers, nice benefits package, great downtown location and building includes a gym, cafeteria, etc. Looks good on your resume.

-Very low hourly pay for the mundane and monotonous work
-Some managers lack management skills
-Rewarded very little for hard work
-Management dangles promotions in order to keep you from moving to a different company

Don't say it is a salary position when it is really hourly
Higher rewards or commissions for the "small" workers in company
Pros
Great location, multiple media outlets, (TV, radio, and newspaper), great benefits, and loyal people to work with.
Cons
Most high end positions were held by people that were with the company for a long time. So, advancement there was impossible unless you knew the right person. But you could work on some great projects.
