I have been working at Trident Microsystems

    Pros

The staff is great. I have had the privilege of working with some great engineers. Additionally, my manager was great to myself, as well as the group.

    Cons

Outsourcing. The Research and Development team from San Diego (Design as well as Test, and into Production) has been moved to China, in an effort to reduce cost.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Outsourcing to China of R&D may seem like a financial improvement, but the impact to the quality of products will be substantial. We have seen this in the past, and trend continues. When your customers find bugs, rather than your development team, hindsight will be 20/20.
