Former Employee – worked at Trillium Services
Pros – Trillium Services provides excellent service to its consumers and has a thoughtful approach to helping those in need. They create a goal path annually, and take input from everyone interested, including family members of the clients.
Cons – The attention and support is turned completely to the consumers served. In an ideal world, this is perfect. However, consumers' cognitive capacity to understand why and how is sometimes limited, and their families are not always in agreeance with the support provided. Typically without asking the background questions, senior management tells its staff/managers/supervisors to make everyone happy. This often times hurts both the consumers' improvement and independence skills, as well puts the household support in between a rock and a hard place. As direct support staff, your scheduled is changed often and you will have no choice but to either accept the change or quit the job. Staff are treated as dispensable employees rather than as a collaborative team.
Advice to Senior Management – Rather than changing your mind every other month, become more consistant in your approach and support those who work for your company. This would decrease the turnover rate and provide better quality service to those involved.
