No cross-function communication. Everyone is doing his/her own jobs.
Promotion is very limited.
Salary is not attractive at all.
Advice to Senior Management
Enhance employee development and provide more training opportunities for both manager and entry level employees.
Develop the company as one family rather than isolated divisions.
Pros
If you do not care about career growth and want a stable life this is the company you can work for.
Cons
No growth opporunities provided.Management does not discuss career path with employess. Even the yearly reviews are not fair. Some management persons decide what will be the raise, review discussion does not happen at all. Very disappointed.
Advice to Senior Management
Management need to listen to the employees. Need to understand the innovative ideas for a better work environment.
Pros
Very competent technical staff who are very hard working.
Cutting edge technology in certain areas of GPS, mobile applications and development.
Encouragment and infrastructure support to work romotely.
Cons
Marketing and product development was unfocused at times, which lead sub-diviision management to jump at any work which might pay off for group, without fully sizing the costs and requirements of the project.
Senior management repeatedly "fixed" strategic lapses by massive downsizing, leaving remaining employees uneasy and underresourced. Staff could work long, intense hours for months only to be told that pay was being frozen, no promised profit sharing (although company as a whole was doing well & buying other businesses), or at the extreme, people were being let go.
Advice to Senior Management
If you offer the carrot of continued employment and ultimate reward to people who must then work very hard, don't reneg and go back on compensation promises or lay off staff, while keeping on execs who failed to perform well. Really unseemly and disappointing corporate behavior for a solid, long-established company, in a year where the stock value hit a record high.
Pros
Financially stable and good benefits
Cons
No diversity or accountability for actions that effect employees
Advice to Senior Management

Cons
No planned carrier growth
No learning curve
Advice to Senior Management
Dont recruit the people those who are already in a good possition by giving false promisses
Pros

Cons
No enthusiasm from some management about career growth.
No human resources reps. in satellite locations. Some things wouldn't be done if reps. were present.
Collaboration is not always accepted by peers.
Advice to Senior Management
Show your employees that you care about their employees and career growth.
Get human resources reps. for satellite locations.
Pros
good benefits, good hours, and good enviroment
Cons
Worked there for 3 years and only got a $0.16 raise! There is a lot of turnaround because they hire temps and they usually end up getting fired within 3 to 6 moths.
Pros
Good work life balance. Some very good engineers.
Cons
Very little opportunity for growth.
Advice to Senior Management
Communicate a clear strategy. Focus on integrating acquisitions. Tired of seeing good money thrown at companies that eventually gets dissolved after a few years for under performing while key groups languish from lack of resources.
Pros
Highly technical
Quality engineers
Team environment
Technical skills are valued
New ideas encouraged
Good benefits
Big company run as bunch of small companies
Cons
Some managers are not technical as needed
Siloed organizations
Products competing within the same company
Witch hunting versus problem solving
Line managers need management training
When technical skills missing, politics and finger pointing fills in
Advice to Senior Management
