Pros
Great company atmosphere
knowledgable staff (operators, engineers)
opportunities to learn from the best
Cons
company politics
departmental alliances (people side with their respective departments)
not a lot of departmental communication.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't forget that the operators are the number 1 reason the company is able to move forward. Without the people out on the floor, there would be no profit.
Pros
Large company with vast resources. Has significant retail experience and presence, so if you have interest in learning about how my market at a mass scale, this is a decent place. Interesting to manage operations that require refridgeration and a complex supply chain.
Cons
If you are interested in a varied experience, this is not the place. Trop is focused on being a small part of the PepsiCo portfolio. I left right when Neil came on, and his focus is profitability. If you want a place the will give you the experience of brand equity building, work on Gatorage or Pepsi. Also, Pepsi is going to move all of their beverages to NY in the next 3-5 years (in my opinion). Therefore, if working in Chicago is important to you this may be a shot term opportunity.
Advice to Senior Management
If you believe that WOM marketing has any effect on people, then your employees are your best brand advocates. You need to care about your employees if you are going to care about your brand.
Pros
Brand - world's best OJ
Location - FL Gulf Coast
Benefits - very competitive
Cons
Tough market
Career advancement options
Entrenched culture/political climate
Advice to Senior Management
Listen to the employees
Place more value on experience
