    I worked at Trustmark full-time

    Pros

Most of top Senior Management(CEO, CFO, & others) have 20+ years with the company. They know the company, it's history, it's employees, and it's culture. Overall most management makes themselves available to all levels of employees.

    Cons

There can be disparate application of the performance rating scale, promotion progression, and pay-scale accross different divisions and departments.

    Advice to Management

Look at performance ratings data by department looking for departments with average ratings that run well above or below company norms. Set standards or at least guidelines for promotion to various office or grade levels.

    Pros

    Free checking account was nice.

    Cons

I worked at Trustmark for 90 days (quit during my probation review). I didn't get a long with anybody in my branch. Not that they necessarily were mean or argumentative but they were all alot older and often spoke as if I were not there. They were all women too. 14 women and 1 male (me). Not fun.

    Advice to Management

    Diversify your branches more.

I worked at Trustmark full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The company is solid and the work is fairly easy. There are some great people working there. You do not have to worry about losing your job so long as you are respectful and don't do anything illegal or unethical.

    Cons

There are some departments and branches that have good management, But overall the management is terrible. Customers can be great, but sometimes they are just terrible.

    Advice to Management

I would strongly suggest that the managers read the book '13 fatal mistakes managers make and how to avoid them'. The managers make most of the mistakes in this book. From assistant managers to regional presidents, they all make lots of mistakes managing.

Company is great to work for. Very involved in the community. Has great benefits as well as 401K.

    Cons

Local market is very hard to move up in and is all about who you know.

    Advice to Management

Listen to what your employees have to say and make the necessary changes.

    Pros

Big organization; lots of opportunities; Great benefits; Kind people; Positive work environment; great training. The office environment is formal, yet supervisors will allow you to throw in your headphones and crank out on work. It helps to keep you in the zone.

    Cons

The corporate bureaucracy can get frustrating at times, and this particular position becomes repetitive quickly, meaning that those who like to be challenged daily could grow bored after several months.

    Advice to Management

Always try to promote the employee BEST for the job, not solely the one who is the most logical next in-waiting employee.
