one of the best global brokerage firms to work for, aggressive, rewarding and challenging.

Equities Broker (Former Employee)
London, England (UK)

I worked at Tullett Prebon full-time for more than 3 years

Prosaggressive, rewarding and challenging but fair

Consmaybe too aggressive for the light hearted and can be a very repetitive lifestyle. client entertainment can be viewed as an extra bonus or a health curse!

Advice to Senior Managementinvest in your staff and view them as assets rather than just squeeze them.

Good place to work, very focused, energetic atmosphere

Operations Manager (Current Employee)
London, England (UK)

I have been working at Tullett Prebon full-time for more than 5 years

ProsGood work ethic
Some high quality management
Ambitious and serious about their business
Guts and energy
Ability to get things done

ConsPoor London office environment, squashed, a bit scruffy
Surprisingly unsophisticated technology in many areas and rather unprofessional by today's standards in some areas, marketing, back office
Unwilling to invest in anything but front office + and it shows up as missing basic efficiency

Training was good

Trainee (Former Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I worked at Tullett Prebon full-time for less than a year

ProsThe training program was decent. Most people were eager to be there. Managers seemed professional and responsive.

ConsIt seems to have a relative high turnover but that might be just nature of the business. I left within a year to pursue another opportunity. A few people I know also left shortly after I did.

Advice to Senior ManagementI don't have long enough experience there to offer any advice to management.

Good place to work

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Tullett Prebon

ProsSome good folks working there. Enjoyed working with them and people were generally helpful.

ConsOffice is in Jersey City so kind of annoying to get there from the city everyday. Reputation as a second tier broker made it difficult sometimes.

Suprisingly Amatuer given the size and stature of the firm

Analyst (Current Employee)
City of London, England (UK)

I have been working at Tullett Prebon full-time for more than 3 years

ProsReasonable work/life balance outside of management.
No shortage of drinking buddies!
Probably wonderful if your in the right clique

ConsHighly secretive management.
Below market pay
No career development.
Blame culture

Advice to Senior ManagementIt's very difficult to change things in a firm, especially when market conditions may not allow you the flexibility to address all of my cons. However, the highly secretive culture of all levels of management is something that can easily be addressed. I am reading about redundancies in newspapers and hearing nothing formal internally. Of course rumour mill is in full swing and it’s distracting and unnecessarily worrying.

As I've highlighted, I'm not in the right clique and someone who is would probably give Tulletts a glowing review.

A different corporate experience.

Market Data Analyst (Current Employee)
Jersey City, NJ

I have been working at Tullett Prebon

ProsThe laid back work environment.

ConsThere is a lack of career opportunities and growth.

Advice to Senior ManagementI worked for Tullett Prebon Information. A subsidiary of the well recognized Inter-Dealer Broker known as Tullett Prebon. I can't speak for how the rest of the departments work, but I do know that the TP information side could have communicated better. It's really sad when you work within a department that has never had an actual department meeting. Makes you question how the heads value passing on information to their employees. Ironically their goal is to provide transparent data yet lack transparency within their own organization.
