    Pros

Great training for a broker. Competitive working environment. Helpful resources available for personal inquiries.

    Cons

Bureaucracy of a large firm impedes business development. Large producers for the firm assume managerial roles, which they are ill equipped for.

    Advice to Management

Managing Directors should assume an active hands on managerial approach for the desks under their umbrella

    Pros

Encouraged to learn quickly. Really thrown in at the deep end, and as a result, picked up a huge amount of knowledge very quickly. Good camaraderie.

    Cons

Lack of focus and structure for a trainee position. Slightly more feedback would be helpful in bench marking yourself and making sure you're keeping up. Compensation is at the lower end.

    Advice to Management

Consider a more structured trainee programme like the likes found in ICAP.

    I worked at Tullett Prebon

    Pros

Well supported work environment from the it and facilities prospective. Great earnings potential, where revenue generation is well rewarded.

    Cons

Very little thought to work/life balance. Stressful environment where only revenue counts.

    Advice to Management

Institute some wellness programs in the office. Would reduce burnout/turnover. Might loose a bit of revenue short term, but will pay off in the long term.

    Pros

Reasonably high salaries, comfortable enough working environment, mostly sensible management, multicultural workforce, I got to work with a (mostly) really good team.

    Cons

Typically restrictive IT policies, bonus not at all linked to individual or team performance (basically it depended on the optimism or otherwise of the upper management.)

  10. A dying brokerage

I worked at Tullett Prebon (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    I no longer work their.

    Cons

Cronyism and avarice out of control.

As someone else mentioned, brokers get promoted to managers. That strategy does not translate into great management.

Highturnover, reported to eight managers in 6.5 yrs.

    Pros

A very much performance oriented company, work hard, work smart with proven performance are everything here. Very practical with minimum bureaucracy.

    Cons

As t regulated business, he breath and depth of the business infrastructure are limited, not suitable for man of ideal.

    Advice to Management

global management concept in terms of information sharing, idea exchange, brain storming.
