I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

The People are Turner Broadcasting's greatest pro. Company has great benefits and the compensation is within industry standards. Working in television is a great opportunity for anyone not on the editorial side of things. It was very exciting at times. There are opportunities to train and take classes to up your skill set.

    Cons

Lots of layoffs going on right now. CNN Is in flux at the moment and not the most stable company to work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Depending on your position, the work-life balance varied greatly. There was a good time-off policy starting with 28 PTO days (this is a 24/7 environment so holidays off are scheduled based on the news flow).

I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free perks, Free tickets, discounted movie tickets

    Cons

Low salary, Under qualified management, out-dated practices, favortisim, unprofessional managers, lazy co-workers, too many hands in the pot, lack of real change and growth. Workers takes fall for higher up mess-ups. Not a good company to work for, people are still living on Ted Turner's legacy but they have gotten rid of his approach to treat the employees like that matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

New and fresh management, remove incompetent managers(majority fit this bill), stop using Turner is a place to learn and not a place to earn, please do better with increasing the salaries. Deal with HR not honoring their own policies of confidentiality. HR is the biggest offenders of company policies but no one addresses these concerns at all.

    Pros

    Benefits, benefits, benefits... and perks

    Cons

There are not many bad things to say about this company. I guess I did not have a bad experience... OK the benefits department seems to be a third party, so that was weird

I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Salary is very good, but vacation is based on seniority and not tittle. Two weeks vacation to start for a senior level is not good.

    Cons

Dealing with old blood. No new way of thinking. People have been there for years therefore they don't want change, same way of doing things.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to new creative thinking. Be clear and transparent.

Great people and great brands. They treat their employees well with good training programs and great benefits. Luxury of having a well established company with the resources needed to be successful. Good work-life balance.
