    I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Some groups are tightly knit, well oiled machines. If you are in one of those groups you will love your time at the company. Benefits are amazing, location and parking in Atlanta are simple whether at Techwood or CNN Center, company has many well known brands so it will look great on your resume. Diverse work environment with people from all over the world. Great place to learn the media business.

    Cons

    Lots of detrimental politics. Leadership positions have been given to outsiders who have brought in their own teams, disrupting long standing policies and turning the place into a cutthroat environment. Lots of senior executives focused on these things instead of running their parts of the business. HR is definitely more interested in not being sued than in ensuring a good working environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Create incentive plans that ensure collaboration. Turn HR around - ensure that employees are first. Remove power from those who are creating the them vs us attitude among teams.

    I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The organization is diverse which is great! This is a major strength because it contributes to the TBS creativity in programs.

    Cons

    The organization suffers from a mean girl attitude; especially in HR. Very political organization and questionable management and HR practices.

    I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    I can wear jeans to work.

    Cons

    Morale is in the gutter. We keep getting memos from the CEO that layoffs are coming so there's a dark cloud over everything. Things that make the company great, like volunteer day, are getting cut. Pay was already low but now there is even less motivation to do a good job. High level execs don't care about us. Only the bottom line matters so that when Time Warner is bought the shareholders will make tons of money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Treat us like human beings rather than dispensable expenses.

    I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Free perks, Free tickets, discounted movie tickets

    Cons

    Low salary, Under qualified management, out-dated practices, favortisim, unprofessional managers, lazy co-workers, too many hands in the pot, lack of real change and growth. Workers takes fall for higher up mess-ups. Not a good company to work for, people are still living on Ted Turner's legacy but they have gotten rid of his approach to treat the employees like that matter.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    New and fresh management, remove incompetent managers(majority fit this bill), stop using Turner is a place to learn and not a place to earn, please do better with increasing the salaries. Deal with HR not honoring their own policies of confidentiality. HR is the biggest offenders of company policies but no one addresses these concerns at all.

    I have been working at Turner Broadcasting

    Pros

    * Name brand recognition
    * Easy to sell
    * Get own office, TV, corporate card
    * Mostly great personalities

    Cons

    * Thrust into unethical situations more than once
    * Top planners are expected to carry the rest of the team
    * Bad experience with traffickers
    * Lack of accountability for work quality

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Management all in all I was pretty satisfied with. My only advice is stop letting bad employees hide behind these brands and make them accountable for costly mistakes.

    I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    The environment is very creative, friendly and supportive. Really good benefits and a great Atlanta-based company for involvement in the entertainment industry.

    Cons

    Due to financial constraints, over the years, the perks to employees continue to decease. Additionally, I've found that it is difficult to move up within the company as many middle and upper managers tend to stay in positions for a long time. It would be nice to have some more opportunities and turnover.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    I think management should consider placing some sort of maximum on time spent in a position, which I think would help get new ideas and systems in place. Additionally, I would love some sort of way to evaluate my managers and directors so that they could also get feedback from their employees.

    I worked at Turner Broadcasting as an intern for less than a year

    Pros

    Fun environment, opportunities to be mentored, and exciting projects to work on. I learned so much from interning here and had opportunities to meet with many different departments and get a better understanding of how each one works together to make the company great.

    Cons

    Can't think of any at the moment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Be more open to working with different personality types. Other than that, I'd say keep up the good work.
